Verizon, Uninterrupted, the NFL, and Apple Music will produce and share player-curated playlists. NFL athletes will also participate in an interview series that UNINTERRUPTED will release.
Verizon and UNINTERRUPTED announced a campaign on Wednesday in collaboration with the NFL and Apple Music to feature music playlists from NFL players across all 32 teams, the UNINTERRUPTED told Boardroom.
Listeners can tap into the “Verizon Run The Playlist” campaign on Apple Music. The organizations are launching the campaign to bring fans inside the music libraries of their favorite players. The partnership also comes with a new digital content series featuring NFL stars and musicians engaging in dialogue to explore the intersection of culture and sports. The exclusive conversations will launch in December and be streamed on UNINTERRUPTED’s YouTube channel.
“We’re constantly looking for new ways to tap into culture and bring our customers content that speaks to their passions,” Kristin McHugh, SVP of marketing and creative at Verizon, said in a statement. “This exciting partnership with UNINTERRUPTED will do exactly that — blend the passion of football with the power of music while fostering a deeper connection between athletes, musicians, and audiences.”
The campaign kicks off this week with playlists curated by the DeAndre Hopkins of the Tennessee Titans and T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Three 6 Mafia, Paramore, Young Dolph, Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa, and Metallica are among the artists featured.
Listeners can expect new playlists to drop throughout the rest of the regular NFL season. “Verizon Run The Playlist” will be featured in select Sunday and Monday night football games as part of pre-game broadcasts.
“Verizon Run the Playlist is a creative expression of the NFL player under the helmet,” UNINTERRUPTED SVP and General Manager Jimmy Spencer said in a press release. “UNINTERRUPTED’s partnership with Verizon not only showcases the humanity of the athlete but also provides an entertaining way to relate to an NFL city and its culture.”
