Khris Middleton Contract & Salary Breakdown (2019-23)

Last Updated: July 2, 2023

EDITOR’S NOTE: This article refers to Middleton’s deal that expired after the 2022-23 season. Click here for the full details of his subsequent extension with the Bucks.

He’s an essential member of Milwaukee’s core and already has a ring to show for it. Check out the details of the Bucks’ Khris Middleton contract.

Khris Middleton has been one of the best NBA stories in recent years. The Pistons drafted him in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft out of Texas A&M, and he began his career in the G League, appearing in just 24 games for Detroit as a rookie. Since then, however, the sharpshooting wing has risen to stardom, making the All-Star team three times and boasting four seasons scoring 20-plus points per game to date. He’s shaped himself into a fitting complementary star next to Giannis Antetokounmpo, proving his worth as a No. 2 option for a championship team as his Milwaukee Bucks bested the Suns in 2021 for their first NBA title in 50 years.

Milwaukee is now one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference on a regular basis, and Middleton’s role in powering them to such status has netted him some serious rewards. Before the 2019-20 season, the Bucks inked him to an extension worth just below true max money — five years and $177.5 million. Notably, he can opt out after the 2022-23 campaign — but he would be leaving a rather attractive player option on the table.

With all this in mind, let’s take a closer look at the Bucks’ Khris Middleton contract.

It is a bit remarkable that a former 38th overall pick has managed to play over a decade in the NBA and reach All-Star heights on multiple occasions, let alone have over $200 million committed to him by a contending team. In 2022-23, Middleton has had to work his way back from the knee injury he suffered during last year’s playoffs, seeing only limited action, but he and Giannis are close enough in age to be a quality tandem for a few more years, should Milwaukee decide to bring back the former Aggie when his deal is up.
