A Senate Judiciary antitrust subcommittee will review Netflixโ€™s proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery at a hearing on Feb. 3, with co-CEO Ted Sarandos set to testify. The committee is chaired by Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), with Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) as the ranking member. The merger has drawn notable scrutiny from lawmakers, partly due to Paramountโ€™s competing hostile bid for Warner Bros. Discovery. Sen. Lee has expressed concerns about antitrust risks and potential misuse of sensitive information, warning that the merger process could be exploited to disadvantage rivals.

Avatar: Fire and Ash slipped to second place with $7 million domestically but continues to perform strongly overseas, earning $28.1 million internationally in its sixth weekend.ย
