The 2023 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs continue on May 25 as the Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars are set to play Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.
The overtime magic that the Golden Knights needed to win Games 1 and 2 was certainly not needed in Game 3 — Vegas controlled the contest from the opening puck drop and emerged victorious by a score of 4-0. Ivan Barbashev led the way with 1 goal and 2 assists while Adin Hill tallied 34 saves.
Let’s get set for Thursday’s Game 4 in Big D with our big Golden Knights vs. Stars prediction, plus the latest odds and betting insights from FanDuel.

Golden Knights vs. Stars Prediction & Pick
The Stars’ backs are against the wall as only 4 of 204 teams to face a 3-0 deficit in a playoff series have come back to advance. The last time it happened was in the first round in 2014. This Dallas team has already overcome some adversity in the postseason and will need to do so again if it wants to keep its season alive.
With that being said, the Stars may be without one of their best players on Thursday as Jamie Benn is set to have a hearing on Wednesday afternoon regarding his unnecessary cross-check in Game 3. The 33-year-old has logged three goals (two on the power play) and 8 assists across 16 playoff games, so his presence would be missed if he gets suspended.
Accordingly, I’m going to back a Golden Knights sweep here. Vegas has all of the momentum on its side with Hill dominating in a five-game winning streak, while Dallas is reeling and notably pulled goaltender Jake Oettinger after just seven minutes of Game 3 action. The Stars’ defense simply cannot compare.
STARS vs. KNIGHTS FINAL SCORE Prediction: Golden Knights 3, Stars 2
Dallas Stars vs. Vegas Golden Knights Best Bet
Offense has been the key to success for the Golden Knights as of late considering they have scored at least 3 goals in six of their last seven playoff games. That includes all three games of this series as players like Jack Eichel and Mark Stone continue to wreak havoc. The Stars have been a great team at home in the postseason, but Oettinger’s struggles are too hard to ignore. It’s unlikely he turns things around in Game 4 with Dallas’ season on the line.
