Manchester City have reportedly been found guilty of all but one of the 115 Premier League financial charges brought against the club in 2023. The allegations, spanning 2009 to 2018, include providing inaccurate financial information and breaching league profitability rules. City have denied wrongdoing throughout the investigation and are expected to appeal. Sanctions have yet to be determined, with possible penalties ranging from fines to points deductions or even expulsion from the Premier League.

Universal has crossed $5 billion at the global box office in 2026, becoming the first studio to reach the milestone this year. The studio has earned $1.79 billion domestically and $3.22 billion internationally, powered by blockbusters including The Odyssey, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and Michael. The Odyssey alone has topped $1.7 billion worldwide, making it Universal’s highest-grossing release ever. This marks Universal’s third time surpassing $5 billion globally, following milestones in 2015 and 2017.

A one-of-a-kind Kobe Bryant and LeBron James basketball card just sold for $6.5 million, making it one of the most expensive sports cards ever. The 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection card features NBA Logoman patches and autographs from both legends. The Alt auction sale ranks ninth among publicly known sports card sales and marks the 30th time a LeBron card has sold for at least $1 million, compared with 16 for Kobe.

Johnny Depp’s Hollywood return continues with Day Drinker, the new thriller from director Marc Webb. Lionsgate dropped the first trailer for the film, which stars Depp alongside Penélope Cruz and Madelyn Cline. Day Drinker marks one of Depp’s first major studio-backed films since his 2022 trial and hits theaters March 26, 2027.

The 2026 Global Citizen Festival has been canceled due to extreme weather expected to hit New York City. The annual event was scheduled for Saturday at Central Park’s Great Lawn, with performances from Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean, Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Shaboozey, and more. Organizers said dangerous conditions made it impossible to safely host tens of thousands of attendees, marking the festival’s first cancellation in 14 years. Ticket holders will be automatically refunded.

Chris Hansen is getting the last word on Primetime. The To Catch a Predator host’s TruBlu streaming service has released the trailer for I’m Chris Hansen, a documentary three years in the making about his career and legacy. Hansen has criticized A24’s Robert Pattinson-led film as “a complete work of fiction attached to a real name,” arguing it misrepresents his career. He says the new documentary was in development long before Primetime arrived.

Avengers: Endgame is back in theaters, opening its encore run with $3.8 million in Thursday previews. The re-release includes four minutes of new footage, including scenes from Avengers: Doomsday, giving fans an early look at the upcoming Marvel ensemble film. Disney expects Endgame to add roughly $25 million domestically this weekend, seven years after its record-setting $1.2 billion global opening.

Microsoft is overhauling Copilot as it shifts its AI strategy toward workplace productivity. The new version brings Word, Excel, and PowerPoint directly into Copilot, alongside a coding tool and AI agent capabilities. CEO Satya Nadella says the redesign reflects changing workplace workflows as Microsoft competes with an expanding field of AI products. The move comes as Meta’s new Muse AI agent climbs the mobile app download charts.

Formula 1 is planning a return to V8 engines for the 2030 season. The proposed three-liter turbocharged power units would retain a smaller hybrid system while targeting more than 1,000 horsepower and cutting roughly 110 pounds from the current setup. The shift follows driver pushback over the sport’s 2026 regulations. F1 last used V8 engines from 2006 to 2013, but the new configuration would pair the beloved eight-cylinder setup with modern turbo and electric technology.

New York is suing Polymarket for at least $4.6 billion, alleging the prediction-market platform is operating an unlicensed gambling business in violation of state law. The lawsuit seeks to recover Polymarket’s alleged illegal gains, consumer restitution and additional fines. New York also challenges the platform’s minimum betting age of 18, while state law requires gamblers to be 21. Polymarket has moved the case from state to federal court as it fights the allegations.
