Now, more than 70 of those game-worn and pregame sneakers are heading to auction via Sotheby’s. Billionaire investor Bill Ackman is making a major play for Universal Music Group, proposing a $64.4 billion cash-and-stock acquisition through Pershing Square Capital Management. The offer includes both cash and shares in a newly structured company. Ackman praised CEO Lucian Grainge for strong operations but argued UMG’s stock has underperformed. The label, home to artists like Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake, has not yet responded.

Anthropic is preparing a $200 million investment into a new venture backed by major private equity firms, including Blackstone and General Atlantic, aimed at bringing AI tools to their portfolio companies. The initiative is targeting a $1 billion raise overall. The move underscores Anthropic’s push into enterprise deals as it competes with OpenAI for high-value business customers.

After the Michigan men’s basketball team delivered the Big Ten its first men’s national title in 26 years on Monday night, the league is set to collect roughly $60 million in NCAA tournament payouts. Combined with the women’s tournament, led by UCLA women’s basketball’s win over South Carolina, the Big Ten’s total haul climbs to more than $66 million.

Fox Corporation is partnering with Kalshi to bring real-time prediction market data across its news and streaming platforms, including Fox News and its direct-to-consumer services. The integration will embed probability-based forecasts into coverage of politics, business, weather, and culture. Kalshi says roughly 70% of its users visit to track odds rather than trade, acting as a supplemental data source for audiences following major events.

Seth Rogen and Olivia Wilde star as a strained married couple in A24’s The Invite, a dark comedy about a dinner party that spirals out of control with their upstairs neighbors, played by Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton. Directed by Wilde, the film premiered at Sundance before heading to a June 26 limited theatrical release. The trailer depicts escalating tension as boundaries blur during an awkward, increasingly surreal night between both couples.

Broadcom is rallying after inking expanded AI infrastructure deals with Google and Anthropic, reinforcing its position in the fast-growing market for custom AI chips. The agreements include continued production of next-generation processors for Google and significantly expanded computing capacity for Anthropic. Shares moved higher on the news, closing Tuesday up 6%, helping offset what’s been a rough year for the stock to date.

Shaquille O’Neal is launching DUNKMAN, a new professional dunking league debuting in summer 2026 in partnership with TNT Sports. The global competition will feature 24 elite dunkers battling through group-stage events toward a world championship, with a $500,000 top prize. The league will introduce structured scoring, live broadcasts across TNT platforms and HBO Max, and aims to turn dunking into a full-scale professional sport.

The latest Dune 3 trailer has dropped, arriving alongside the launch of IMAX 70mm ticket sales for the final chapter in Denis Villeneuve’s saga. The teaser offers new glimpses of Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides as his rule triggers a galaxy-wide war, with destruction unfolding across multiple worlds.
