Entering their first season under new head coach Jason Kidd, the Mavs are taking their recovery game to the next level.
Don’t do a double-take if you see Luka Doncic using a Theragun on the sidelines this coming season.
The Dallas Mavericks announced a multi-year partnership with Therabody on Thursday, naming the wellness technology company as their official recovery partner.
“Therabody is the industry leader in optimal recovery technology,” said Mavericks governor Mark Cuban. “We’re excited to have them on our team.”
Experts from Therabody will provide education sessions to Mavs players and training staff, which will help optimize their use of the company’s devices to improve recovery and overall performance.
“Their focus on practitioner education is unique in this space,” said Mavs head athletic trainer Dionne Calhoun. “They have proven that they are committed to athlete performance and recovery.”
As part of the partnership, the Mavericks and Therabody will create a digital content series showcasing how whole-body wellness can enhance performance on and off the court. The series will appear on Dallas’ website and social media channels.
“The Mavericks perform at the highest level of competition, and like all of us, their bodies experience wear and tear from the intensity of their workouts and game play,” said Therabody founder and chief wellness officer Dr. Jason Wersland. “We’re proud to support them by helping to ensure that the players are able to achieve their bodies’ full potential.”
Therabody continues to grow its influence among teams and athletes, with partnerships with teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers and New England Patriots and superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, DeAndre Hopkins, Breanna Stewart, Paul George, DK Metcalf, Sam Mewis, and DeVonta Smith. Recent key investors include Aaron Rodgers, Thirty Five Ventures, James Harden, Jay-Z, and Russell Wilson.
