The Weeknd Soars into the Guinness Book of World Records

The Weeknd is no stranger to the record books. Earlier this year, the Canadian artist became the first to surpass 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify. The news caught the attention of the Guinness Book of World Records, which officially enshrined the achievement. The Toronto native and his 111.6 million streams as of March 21 left a wide gap. He’s trailed by Miley Cyrus (82.3M), Shakira (81.7M), Ariana Grande (81.1M), Taylor Swift (80.3M), Rihanna (78.2M) and Ed Sheeran (77.5M).

Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar Lead Star-studded Lollapalooza Lineup

An OG on the festival circuit lined up a modern mix of artists, making it one of the summer’s hottest tickets. Lollapalooza revealed its lineup in advance of the August festival. Among the A-listers performing from Aug. 3-6 at Chicago’s Grant Park. Topping the bill includes Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Odesza, Lana Del Rey, Karol G, The 1975, and Tomorrow X Together. Four-day tickets range between $365 and $4350.

Fanatics Inks 10-Year Deal as Official NHL Jersey & Apparel Partner

The NHL and Adidas announced the end of their jersey partnership, which it took over in advance of the 2017-2018 season. Now, the league revealed that it has found a new jersey supplier in the form of Fanatics. The new 10-year pact with the league is set to begin in the 2024-25 campaign. With this deal, Fanatics becomes the NHL’s authentic outfitter of on-ice uniforms and supplier of authentic jerseys at retail. For the first time, each player’s uniform will have Fanatics branding.

The Next Generation of Golf, TMRW, Adds Shaq, Dwyane Wade, and 35V as Investors

TMRW Sports, a star-studded startup founded by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and sports executive Mike McCarley, added Kevin Durant and Rich Kleman’s 35V, Dwyane Wade, and Shaquille O’Neal as investors, the company announced Tuesday. The trio joins other NBA and WNBA superstars including Stephen Curry, Andre Iguodala, Steve Nash, Chris Paul, Jayson Tatum, and Diana Taurasi already in the group.

Post Malone Settles “Circles” Composition Case

On the second day of spring, Post Malone settled his upcoming case with Canadian artist Tyler Armes who alleges that he co-wrote the instrumentals and melody for the hit song “Circles.” Public paperwork from the case shows that Armes alleges that “I was beside him giving input. I was not just someone hanging out in the room, I’m a writer/producer in the room with two other writer/producers working on a song.” In a surprise move, Post Malone settled shortly before it was set to go to court. The amount of the settlement is unknown at this time.

$11M Series A Brings SlamBall Back to Vegas

Any elder millennial recalls the stronghold that SlamBall had on them in their youth. Now, the hit show, which combines trampoline acrobatics and hoops, is coming back. IA Sports Ventures and Eberg Capital led an $11 million Series A, which will fuel the return. Slamball is set to tipoff with a six-week season this coming July in Las Vegas. The league is currently looking for a broadcast partner, but expect to be able to watch the triumphant return this summer.
