Lil Baby Set to Headline Star-studded Fanatics Event at NBA Summer League

Just one week after his iconic Hamptons White Party drew the likes of Tom Brady, Travis Scott, Kevin Durant, and Beyoncé, Michael Rubin is at it again. In partnership with Fanatics, he’s teaming up with the NBPA for an all-star Summer Players Party. Lil Baby will headline the see-and-be-seen, invite-only event, which is scheduled to take place at Tao Las Vegas on Saturday night. Among those invited include the standout stars of the NBA rookie class — Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, Brandon MillerJoel Embiid, Kevin Hart, and many more.

Sabrina Ionescu Lands 'NBA 2K24' WNBA Edition Cover

Sabrina Ionescu was officially named as the cover athlete for the NBA 2K24 WNBA Edition, 2K Games announced on Friday. “It’s just kind of a pinch-me-moment, growing up and being able to see a lot of the NBA athletes on the cover and now being able to be on it myself,” the New York Liberty star told Boardroom of the honor. NBA 2K24 is available for pre-order now for Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X/S in the US and Canada. The game is scheduled for a Sept. 8 global release.

Deion Sanders Rejoins the Nike Family

It is Prime Time for the Swoosh. The Beaverton brand announced on Friday that Deion Sanders is rejoining its slate of featured talent. Nike previously sponsored the newly minted Colorado Buffaloes head coach during his time as an MLB and NFL athlete. Boardroom’s Nick DePaula notes that Sanders’ 1990s Diamond Turf line remains one of Nike’s most memorable training series in its long history. Sanders’ piqued sneakerheads’ interest when he wore the 1996 model on the sidelines during a Buffs’ spring game.

Roc Nation Sports Acquires Brazilian Agency TFM

On Friday, Roc Nation Sports International confirmed its acquired Brazil-based athlete agency TFM. While TFM might be unfamiliar to some, the athletes they represent have worldwide celebrity. Among the famous faces joining the brand are Real Madrid winger Vinicius JuniorArsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli, and Real Madrid wunderkind prospect Endrick. At Roc Nation’s football sector, its roster of talent includes Manchester City superstar Kevin De BruyneInter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku, and US international Chris Richards. The final price of the purchase was not revealed.

Lil Uzi Vert Announces Upcoming ‘Pink Tape Tour’

After five years, rapper Lil Uzi Vert announced they are embarking on their first headlining tour in five years. Aptly named after their 26-track album Pink Tape, the Pink Tape Tour begins Oct. 21 in Minneapolis at The Armory. Additional stops will include Raleigh, Los Angeles, Boston, Houston, and Atlanta. The 17-date trek concludes on Nov. 22 in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center. Pink Tape dropped on June 30 and features notable rap royalty like Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, and Don Toliver.

Julio Rodriguez Teams Up with Gatorade

Julio Rodriguez will stay busy as his home team hosts the 2023 MLB All-Star festivities. The 22-year-old will represent the Seattle Mariners in both the All-Star game and the Home Run Derby. In the run-up, Gatorade announced that Rodriguez signed an endorsement deal with the brand. For those keeping score at home, this partnership follows the Dominican’s cameo in Gatorade’s “The Way To Be Great” commercial campaign, which debuted in June, featuring Michael JordanJayson TatumSerena Williams, Bryce Harper, and a voiceover from Eminem. Other companies Rodriguez has inked off-field endorsement deals include Adidas, Oakley, T-Mobile, Alaska Airlines, and Fanatics.
