Quinn Ewers Taking His Talents – and NIL Deals – to Texas

The Ohio State quarterback announced last week that he would be leaving the Buckeyes and entering the transfer portal. Reports have emerged which indicate that Ewers is positioning to return to his home state and join Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns. Ewers made headlines earlier this year when he opted to graduate from high school early to pursue NIL opportunities, which included a reported $1.4 million autograph deal. 

Tony Hawk Dropping Second NFT Collection

Skateboard superstar Tony Hawk’s latest offering at NFT platform Autograph includes five digital collectibles depicting his signature tricks in an animated style: the Front Side Cab, Finger Flip, Gymnast Plant, Magic Dance, and Varial 5. In discussing the collection, Hawk tells Boardroom, “It’s humbling to see how these tricks are taking on new life in the digital era even after I’ve performed my last ones, It allows fans the opportunity to experience them once again in a new way.” Hawk’s assortment of 16,600 collectibles will be unlocked on Dec. 21.

Peloton Releases Epic Response to “And Just Like That…” Controversy

Last week, the internet was abuzz after a key character on the HBO show And Just Like That… had a heart attack while riding a Peloton. The at-home fitness company’s real-life stock was impacted by the fictional storyline, with its value dropping more than 11%. The at-home fitness company released a clip on Sunday that features Chris Noth, who plays Mr. Big – starting a new life with his beloved instructor, Allegra –  played by real Peloton instructor Jess King – and a voiceover from Ryan Reynolds, which concludes with, “He’s alive.”

SeatGeek Expands MLS Presence with St. Louis CITY SC Deal 

SeatGeek announced a primary ticketing deal with St. Louis CITY SC on Monday. The announcement is the most recent for SeatGeek, which has made major moves in the primary ticketing market in recent years – with its collaboration with the MLS at the center of that growth. SeatGeek currently has seven team partnerships, which include Austin FCPortland Timbers, and Sporting Kansas City, among others. Back in September, STL set a league record with 30k ticket deposits within the first 15 minutes of being offered. The team is set to debut in 2023.

Excel Sports Management is making major moves in the sports media space. The agency announced a number of high-profile signings that include analysts, play-by-play personnel, and producers. Among the key signings are ESPN’s Holly Rowe, former NBA star and current analyst Carlos Boozer, UFC play-by-play announcer Jon Anik, and several others.

Malbon Golf Takes the Country Club to the Metaverse

Malbon Golf has had a huge year of collaborations, that included a super limited shoe collaboration with New Balance. And now they have their sights set on the metaverse. The Buckets Club will launch 1,000 NFTs, which will offer owners membership to an “elite members-only group.” The NFTs are built around the company’s iconic logo – Buckets – with callbacks to pop culture, including the Flintstones. 

Tom Brady Passes Drew Brees to Claim Completions Record, Emerges as MVP Frontrunner

When Tom Brady told reporters that he wanted to play well into his 40s, everyone laughed at the thought of it. The G.O.A.T. continued his improbable domination on Sunday, with the 44-year-old leading the Bucs to a 33-27 victory in overtime. In the win, the Under Armour athlete passed Drew Brees, setting a record for total completions with 7,143. He emerged from the win as the frontrunner for this season’s MVP.

Temperatures are dropping and Supreme and The North Face unveiled a line that will keep you warm – and stylish – all through the winter season. The collaboration features a signature puffer jacket, snow pants, and sleeping bag in a bleached denim colorway. This is the second collaboration for the big-name brands and will drop on the Supreme website on Dec. 16.
