The skateboard superstar’s latest offering on Autograph includes five digital collectibles depicting his signature tricks in an animated style.
As part of the “Mystery GOAT” NFT collection at digital collectibles platform Autograph, skateboarding legend Tony Hawk will exclusively debut five new pieces, the company announced Monday.
The “Tony Hawk Last Trick Collection” will feature some of the action sports icon’s most memorable tricks in non-fungible token form as he moves into official retirement, including the Front Side Cab, Finger Flip, Gymnast Plant, Magic Dance, and Varial 5.
This follows a previous Hawk collection on Autograph that sold out within minutes.
“After seeing how quickly my Preseason Access collection sold out, I was inspired to do something bigger and more personal with my latest assortment of NFTs,” Hawk said. “For The Tony Hawk Last Trick Collection with Autograph, I selected five of my signature tricks to retire and reinterpreted them in animated NFTs that will last forever. “
Those who purchased Preseason Access NFTs on Autograph will have advanced access to the Last Trick Collection on Tuesday before the drop day to the public on Thursday. But here’s where the mystery comes in. Hawk’s assortment of 16,600 collectibles won’t be unlocked until Dec. 21. If opened, a digital container will reveal a single collectible in one of five possible styles and five tiers of rarity. If you collect all five styles in a given tier by Jan. 4, you’ll receive a special sixth Hawk token.
“It’s humbling to see how these tricks are taking on new life in the digital era even after I’ve performed my last ones,” Hawk said. “It allows fans the opportunity to experience them once again in a new way.”
After Simone Biles’ NFTs kicked off the Mystery GOAT series, Hawk’s collection will be followed by offerings from Derek Jeter, Naomi Osaka, and Usain Bolt in the coming weeks.
