The New England Patriots have sued the town of Foxborough, alleging officials improperly inflated Gillette Stadiumโ€™s annual entertainment license renewal from the state-mandated $100 fee to nearly $1 million through added administrative charges. The lawsuit argues the town exceeded its authority under Massachusetts law by attaching costs tied to public safety personnel salaries. Foxborough says the fees help ensure taxpayers arenโ€™t left covering the growing security and operational costs associated with large-scale stadium events.

U.S. gas prices have dipped below $4 per gallon for the first time since March, offering consumers a break after months of elevated costs tied to the Iran conflict. Still, analysts caution the relief may be temporary, with U.S. oil reserves and commercial stockpiles near critical lows and supply risks lingering into the summer.
