Pharrell Taps Jeremy Allen White as New Louis Vuitton Ambassador
After repping the luxury brand at this year’s Met Gala and SAG Awards, actor Jeremy Allen White has officially joined Louis Vuitton as a House Ambassador. The Bear star joins the likes of Pusha T, Lisa, and Victor Wembanyama under the LV umbrella. Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams pointed to White’s “quiet confidence and authenticity” as reasons why Louis Vuitton targeted the collaboration.
Netflix to Invest Over $1B in Spain; Picks Up Rights to Canelo Álvarez-Terence Crawford
Netflix dominated the news on Tuesday, starting the day by announcing that it planned to invest over 1 billion euros ($1.14 billion) to produce content in Spain between 2025 and 2028. Per Netflix, Spanish-speaking titles generated over 5 billion hours of viewing last year. Later in the day, the streaming giant also announced it has obtained the broadcast rights for the highly anticipated boxing bout between Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford. It will stream live on the platform on Sept. 13 for free, as opposed to the typical pay-per-view model most boxing fights use.
Mariah Carey, Gamma Reach Multi-Album Deal
Mariah Carey has signed a new multi-project deal with Gamma, Larry Jackson‘s independent music label, kicking off with the release of her upcoming 16th album. Carey, who hasn’t dropped a project since 2016’s Caution, was previously signed to Sony’s Epic Records. Carey was honored with her first-ever BET Award after receiving the Ultimate Icon honor on Monday night.
Spike Lee Leads Inter Milan Campaign Ahead of Club World Cup
Director, writer, producer, and actor Spike Lee has lent his talents to the Italian soccer club Inter Milan as it prepares to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup, which begins this week. Titled MY NAME IS MY STORY, the idea of the campaign is for the team to introduce “itself to a new, international, and diverse audience,” and who better than the two-time Oscar winner to bring it to life.
Disney Buys Comcast’s Hulu Stake for $439M
Disney has taken over full control of Hulu after buying Comcast‘s remaining ownership stake for $438.7 million, the companies announced Tuesday. After paying $8.6 billion initially to Comcast in 2023, the two sides agreed to conduct an appraisal process for the remainder of the payment. The deal is expected to close by July 24.
Live Nation Bets Big on Emerging Music Markets with $1B Push
Live Nation is putting an emphasis on smaller markets as it plans to invest $1 billion to build 18 new live music venues across the U.S. The Ticketmaster parent company is planning for what it calls the biggest year of live music ever and is optimistic that concert attendance will continue to grow in the second half of this year. Live Nation already owns 150 venues across the nation, or 4% of all venues in the U.S.

Major League Baseball is teaming up with Jomboy Media in a strategic partnership that includes access to MLB IP, merch opportunities, and presence at events like the All-Star Game and Home Run Derby. Jomboy Media saw massive growth in 2024, recording over 93 million social media engagements to rank it in the top 4% of all digital publishers. Backers of the media company already include Alexis Ohanian, Dwyane Wade, Karl-Anthony Towns, and more.
Meta Aims to Keep Up in AI Race with $15B Scale AI Investment
Meta is reportedly paying nearly $15 billion for a 49% stake in Scale AI, with Mark Zuckerberg looking to form a new superintelligence AI team led by Scale AI’s CEO Alexandr Wang. This is Meta’s latest move to keep up, or even pull ahead, in the AI race, with Amazon having invested at least $8 billion in Anthropic, while Microsoft has invested over $13 billion in OpenAI.
WCWS Records Largest College Softball Audience Ever on ESPN
Texas‘ win over in-state rival Texas Tech in Game 3 of the Women’s College World Series on ESPN last week recorded the largest audience for a college softball game ever, drawing an average audience of 2.4 million viewers. This comes after Games 1 and 2 both attracted an average of 2.1 million viewers each. The national championship series had it all, including two programs aiming for their first national title and star power, such as Tech’s NiJaree Canady.
Ice Spice to Make Original Song for ‘SpongeBob Movie’
Ice Spice and Regina Hall are joining the voice cast of The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants from Paramount and Nickelodeon. Additionally, Ice Spice is expected to produce an original song for the upcoming film set to release in December. Other members joining the cast include Sherry Cola, Arturo Castro, and George Lopez.
