Two-time NFL MVP and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is adding actor to his resume. The four-time Pro Bowler announced on Instagram his role in Power Book III: Raising Kanan, emerging as E-Tone in an upcoming episode. The Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson-produced Power franchise has won multiple awards since starting on Starz in 2014.

Following widespread rumors of a catalog sale, the estate of the Notorious B.I.G. and Primary Wave have agreed to a deal. According to the Wall Street Journal, Primary Wave is taking a 50% interest in the $200 million-plus estate, allowing each entity to collaborate on the use of Biggie’s name, image, likeness, and publishing moving forward.

On the heels of Season 2’s shocking finale, Severance will be back for a third installment. Apple TV+ unveiled the series reorder on Friday morning via an exchange on X between its executive producer, Ben Stiller, and Apple boss Tim Cook. The show’s sophomore season emerged as the streamer’s all-time, best-performing show. The announcement was welcome news for the streamer, as a report from The Information indicates that it is losing as much as $1 billion per year on the venture.

Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes made history this week, but not on the diamond. An autographed rookie card tied to his MLB debut and pulled by an 11-year-old fan sold for $1.1 million on Fanatics Collect, placing it in instant collector lore. For reference, the final price surpasses that of the pitcher’s 2025 paycheck of $875,000.

A new free agent has emerged in the IP era. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Jason Bourne film franchise is leaving the Universal lot with WME currently shopping the spy series. Debuting in 2002 by way of The Bourne Identity and last reprised in 2016 via Jason Bourne, the Matt Damon-faced franchise has earned over $1 billion at the box office. Skydance, Netflix, and Apple are all said to be suitors. 

Swedish buy now, pay later lender Klarna is now in the food business. On Thursday, the company partnered with DoorDash ahead of an impending IPO, looking to earn momentum amongst investors. The move is said to place Klarna in dialogue with everyday spending categories, allowing customers to split or delay payments on DoorDash orders.

Space City may be making way for more ice. ESPN reports that American billionaire Dan Friedkin is a leading contender to bring an NHL expansion team to Houston. Already owning Italian Serie A club AS Roma, the Freidkin Group’s next move comes after reportedly being a bidder in the Boston Celtics sweepstakes. In recent years, NHL expansion teams in Vegas and Seattle have gone for $500 million and $650 million, respectively.

2000 Trick Daddy hit “Take It to Da House” has new meaning in 2025. This week, the Miami-Dade County Commission approved the renaming of over a dozen city streets to reflect the area’s rich hip-hop history. In addition to Trick Daddy, DJ Khaled, City Girls, and Trina are among the artists to see their work rename roads.

Good Good Golf continues to push the envelope in the creator-focused golf media space, bringing in its first outside investment via a new funding round worth $45 million. The round was led by Creator Sports Capital and included participation from Peyton Manning‘s Omaha Productions, Manhattan West Private Equity, and Sunflower Bank. Founded in 2020, Good Good has built a huge following while partnering with the likes of NBC Sports and Golf Channel on events.

Headed home to the nation’s capital, the 2025 Jordan Brand Classic will return to Washington, D.C. The high school All-American exhibition is headlined this year by the likes of Darryn Peterson, ZaKiyah Johnson, and Meleek Thomas, representing the best boys and girls across the country. Hosted by Michael Jordan‘s namesake company in his former place of play, tickets to the April 18 event will cost $23.
