Tom Cruise is officially returning for Top Gun 3 with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, as Paramount Pictures confirmed Thursday at CinemaCon. The sequel to Top Gun: Maverick, which grossed $1.5 billion globally, has been in development since 2024. Cruise will reprise Maverick, the iconic pilot he first played in 1986, following the massive success of the long-awaited second installment.

Reed Hastings will step down as chairman of Netflix in June, exiting the board and capping a major leadership transition as the company reported earnings on Thursday. Despite beating expectations with $12.25 billion in revenue and strong profit growth, Netflix’s stock dropped following the release. New Balance has officially unveiled the Maxey v1, the first signature shoe forTyrese Maxey, who debuted the pair Wednesday night in a win over the Orlando Magic as the Philadelphia 76ers punched their ticket to the NBA Playoffs. The low-top silhouette, debuting in a black-and-light-blue colorway, is set to release later this year for $130, marking a major milestone as the rising guard steps further into the spotlight.

Lana Del Rey has released the official theme song for 007 First Light, the upcoming video game from IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios, marking her first collaboration with the franchise. Created alongside composer David Arnold, the track accompanies a reimagined origin story of a young James Bond. 007 First Light is set to release on May 27.

Luka Dončić and Cade Cunningham will remain eligible for NBA end-of-season awards after the league and the players’ association agreed to waive the 65-game minimum under “extraordinary circumstances.” Dončić played 64 games after missing time for the birth of his child, while Cunningham appeared in 63 following a collapsed lung. Anthony Edwards, who played 60 games and missed time due to an infection, was denied a similar exemption.
