IMAX is partnering with Apple TV to bring the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship live to select U.S. theaters, with at least 50 IMAX locations set to screen five major Grands Prix: Miami on May 3, Monaco on June 7, British (Silverstone) on July 5, Italian (Monza) on Sept. 6, and United States (Austin) on Oct. 25. This follows the success of F1: The Movie, starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris and directed by Joseph Kosinski. Shot entirely with IMAX-certified digital cameras, the film grossed $654 million globally, including $97.6 million from IMAX screens alone.

Amazon has officially surpassed Walmart to become the world’s largest company by revenue, reporting $717 billion in 2025 sales compared to Walmart’s $713.2 billion for the year ending Jan. 31. Bloomberg notes that over the past decade, Amazon’s revenue has grown nearly 10 times faster than Walmart’s, fueled by 2.7 billion monthly visits to its website and apps. While Amazon dominates e-commerce, Walmart remains the largest brick-and-mortar retailer, operating more than 10,000 stores worldwide, with both companies generating most of their revenue in the U.S.

Three-time Oscar winner Steven Spielberg will return to SXSW as a keynote speaker on March 13, his first visit since premiering Ready Player One in 2018. He will appear on a live episode of The Big Picture with host Sean Fennessey, discussing his career, the future of moviegoing, and his upcoming alien project, Disclosure Day, releasing June 12. He joins a star-studded SXSW lineup that includes Vince Gilligan, Rhea Seehorn, Larry David, Jeff Schaffer, Steve Carell, Danielle Deadwyler, and Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis, all discussing their latest projects and careers.

ESPN announced Thursday the launch of Women’s Sports Sundays, a new weekly primetime franchise debuting this summer that will showcase top-tier WNBA and NWSL matchups, presented by Ally. The nine-week, 12-game series promises to highlight major rivalries, star athletes, and must-see competition. Beyond live games, the initiative will also leverage ESPN’s full media capabilities, including studio programming, storytelling, and digital and social coverage.

Academy Award winners Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin, Mikey Madison, and Zoe Saldaña will present at the 98th Oscars, returning to the stage after winning acting awards last year. Hosted by Conan O’Brien, the ceremony will air live on ABC and stream on Hulu on March 15. The event will take place at the Dolby Theatre and will be broadcast in more than 200 territories worldwide. 

Bulgari unveiled Dua Lipa as its newest global brand ambassador on Thursday. The British singer-songwriter expressed excitement about collaborating with a high-end jeweler known for confidence, creativity, and modern femininity. She joins existing Bulgari ambassadors Anne Hathaway, Lisa, Liu Yifei, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas on its roster of high-profile collaborators.

Tiffany Haddish and Rosario Dawson will star in The Lesson, a horror-thriller written and directed by JoJo Ryder, known for producing American Heist and The Bachelor. The story follows a devoted teacher whose death triggers a series of disturbing events that haunt his former students, forcing them to confront buried secrets and unresolved guilt. Additional casting is underway, with filming planned in Los Angeles later this year.

Joopiter, the auction platform founded by Pharrell Williams, will host The Collection of Sébastien Jondeau: My Life with Karl Lagerfeld from Feb. 19 to March 3. The auction opens the archives of Sébastien Jondeau, Karl Lagerfeld’s longtime bodyguard, assistant, and muse, showcasing pieces that defined their nearly three-decade relationship. Highlights include Rolex watches, rare jewelry, and luxury fashion from Chanel, Fendi, and Louis Vuitton, as well as major works of art from Andy Warhol, Helmut Newton, and Jeff Koons.

eBay Inc. has agreed to acquire Depop from Etsy Inc. for about $1.2 billion in cash, with the deal expected to close in Q2 pending regulatory approvals. Depop, a mobile-first platform for secondhand fashion, reported nearly $1 billion in annual gross merchandise volume and 60% U.S. growth last year, with 7 million active buyers – almost 90% under 34 – and over 3 million active sellers. eBay plans to fund the acquisition with cash on hand, while Etsy will use proceeds for corporate purposes. Depop will retain its name, brand, platform, and culture under eBay’s ownership.

Cooper Flagg, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2025 NBA Draft, has set a new collectible record with the sale of his Dallas Mavericks rookie debut game-worn jersey for $1 million, becoming the highest publicly recorded price through NBA Auctions. Flagg wore the jersey during the first half of the Mavs’ season opener against the San Antonio Spurs on Oct. 22. Sotheby’s will run the NBA Rookie Debut Auction from March 17-23, featuring first game-worn jerseys from other rookies, including V. J. Edgecombe, Kon Knueppel, Dylan Harper, and Derik Queen.
