Angel Reese is set to make history as the first professional athlete to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Oct. 15 in New York. This marks her debut as a Victoria’s Secret Angel and the start of a global partnership with the brand. The show will feature all-female headliners like Madison Beer, Karol G, and TWICE, and appearances by top models, including Adriana Lima and Joan Smalls. It will stream live on Prime Video.

Apple Partners with NBA to Bring Lakers Games to Vision Pro
The NBA is partnering with Apple to bring a more immersive experience to the Apple Vision Pro, with a selection of Los Angeles Lakers games set to be made available this upcoming season. The Apple Immersive Video format provides users with a courtside experience using a new URSA Cine Immersive Live camera from Blackmagic Design. The schedule of games will be revealed at a later date, though the first game won’t be available to stream until early 2026.
Google to Enhance LA28 Olympics in New Deal with NBCU, Team USA
Google announced Thursday a major partnership with LA28, Team USA, and NBCUniversal to enhance the Olympic and Paralympic Games experience for U.S. fans, athletes, and organizers. Through Google Search, Gemini, and Google Cloud, the collaboration will bring AI-powered tools to help fans access real-time info throughout the games. NBCUniversal will integrate Google’s AI features into its coverage, including exclusive short-form content on YouTube and interactive experiences through AI Mode. Google Cloud will also serve as the official cloud provider for the LA28 Games.
Netflix Makes Video Games Playable on TVs for First Time
In a first for the streamer, Netflix is making video games available to play on TVs, offering group games such as Boggle Party, Pictionary: Game Night, Tetris Time Warp, and Lego Party. Previously limited to mobile, these games will now be playable on the big screen using phones as controllers. All games in the initial rollout are free for subscribers.
‘Minecraft’ Sequel to Hit Theaters in 2027
The Minecraft franchise is officially getting a sequel. The second-highest-grossing film of the year, having racked up $957.8 million globally, a follow-up to A Minecraft Movie is set to hit theaters on July 23, 2027, Warner Bros. confirmed on Thursday. Director Jared Hess is set to return and will write the script alongside Chris Galletta.
Gap, NBA Drop New Vintage-Inspired Collaboration
Gap has renewed its partnership with the NBA for a new collection in time for tipoff later this month. Featuring iconic teams like the Celtics, Knicks, Lakers, and Warriors, the line includes vintage-inspired hoodies, tees, and varsity jackets with subtle team branding. The collection launches in pop-up stores across Japan on Oct. 10, with no word yet on a global release.
‘Beatles’ Biopic Cast is Taking Shape
BAFTA Rising Star winner Mia McKenna-Bruce has joined the cast of Sam Mendes‘ upcoming Beatles biopic series from Sony Pictures. The 28-year-old British actress will portray Maureen Starkey, the first wife of drummer Ringo Starr. McKenna-Bruce, who rose to fame in How to Have Sex, joins a growing star-studded cast, which includes Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney. Filming for the highly anticipated quartet of films is set to begin soon.
Common, Karriem Riggins, James Poyse Team Up for ‘NBA on Prime’ Theme Song
Three-time Grammy winner Common has teamed up with Karriem Riggins and fellow Grammy winner James Poyser to compose “Victory,” the official theme music for NBA on Prime. Premiering with the 2025-26 season, the song marks the first national NBA broadcast theme created by three Black composers. Recorded with a 60-piece orchestra in Nashville, the score blends orchestral, rock, and hip-hop styles. The theme will debut during the NBA on Prime opening night doubleheader on Oct. 24 and will be available to stream the same day.
Kylie Jenner, Alexander Skarsgård Among Those in Charli XCX’s Movie
As Charli XCX prepares to make her big-screen debut in The Moment, an A24 film she co-created, the singer unveiled her co-stars in a video posted to Instagram Thursday. Directed by Aidan Zamiri and written with Bertie Brandes, the film features a star-studded cast including Kylie Jenner, Alexander Skarsgård, Rachel Sennott, Rosanna Arquette, and Kate Berlant. Longtime collaborator A.G. Cook is scoring the project. Although the teaser reveals no footage, The Moment is set to hit theaters in 2026.
