Warriors Teammates Draymond Green, Steph Curry Have a Mutual Appreciation, Admiration in Their Relationship

Green and Curry’s unspoken chemistry defines the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty, fueling four NBA championships and setting the blueprint for teamwork in the modern NBA.

In the world of the Golden State Warriors, chemistry is key. After all, multiple championships can’t be won if teammates are constantly bickering. If you want a fitting example of an unspoken connection, look no further than Draymond Green and Stephen Curry. These two are less “teammates” and at this point a well-oiled machine: Draymond’s intensity triggers Curry’s brilliance, while Curry’s quick-thinking pulls Draymond into spaces where greatness happens. From pick-and-roll telepathy to sideline exchanges that could be mistaken for secret Morse code, their bond spans far beyond basketball, and it’s rooted in trust, timing, and synergy that other superstar duos across the league couldn’t replicate.

During the latest episode of Network with Rich Kleiman, Green explained what really encapsulates why the duo has such a special connection:

“We understand where we differ, and we never ask one to be the other. There is never any pressure on Steph to do what I do, to be who I am, to carry what I carry. There’s zero pressure for him to do that. There’s probably a negative, if you will, on him to do what I do. And vice versa. There is zero pressure on me to anything Steph Curry does. We understand that, and we carry that delicately.”

There’s no denying this mindset has paid off for the two of them, the franchise, and anyone who watches Golden State compete. Together, they’ve powered the Warriors to four NBA championships (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022), with Curry earning two MVP awards (2015, 2016) during their shared tenure and Green cementing himself as the defensive anchor that made it all possible, including winning NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2017. They’ve combined for multiple All-Star appearances, set records for three-point shooting and assist-to-turnover mastery, and created one of the most feared small-ball lineups in history — the “Death Lineup.”

Just like plenty of superstar teammates in NBA history, Draymond Green and Steph Curry are the blueprint.
