See who will suit up for Cold Hearts, City Reapers, and YNG Dreamerz this season, as well as the other teams they will face.
Just days after Boardroom broke the news that Overtime Elite‘s three teams would have new names, logos, and uniforms for its second season, we now have official rosters. Following the OTE Draft, the organization has revealed who will play for the Cold Hearts, City Reapers, and YNG Dreamerz.
Those teams will not only play each other three or four times this season, but will also face three local Atlanta high school and prep squads: Hillcrest Prep Bruins (which counts Phoenix Suns star DeAndre Ayton as an alum), Our Savior Lutheran Falcons, and Word of God Holy Rams (which boasts John Wall and TJ Warren as former players). OTE squads will still play other schools aside from those three, but the aforementioned trio will be fully fledged members of the league for 2022-23. While those players won’t be paid like the Overtime Elite hoopers, they will be offered the resources, infrastructure, education programing, and life skills curriculum that OTE players receive.
Each of the three official OTE teams was assigned a team captain. That captain was responsible for drafting the rosters. Top 2023 NBA draft prospect Ausar Thompson will lead City Reapers, Tyler Smith will captain Cold Hearts, and Jazian Gortman will steward YNG Dreamerz.
Not surprisingly, Thompson chose his twin brother and fellow NBA prospect Amen with the first overall pick.
