Luis Suarez NFTs Are Coming to Ethernity Chain

Last Updated: July 5, 2023
The Atlético Madrid and Uruguay superstar makes his digital collectibles debut on Nov. 13 — but the action only lasts for 72 hours.

You may know Luis Suarez as the 34-year-old striker with more than 500 career goals to his name thanks to star turns with world-class clubs like Ajax, Liverpool, Barcelona, current clubAtlético Madrid, and the Uruguayan national team, with multiple golden boots to his name. His teams have won a Champions League, four La Liga championships, four Copa del Rey titles, and a FIFA Club World Cup.

Suarez, with 42.2 million Instagram followers and 16.8 million Twitter followers, is one of the most popular athletes on the planet. Now, he’s taking his talents to the metaverse with a limited-edition NFT drop on the Ethernity Chain.

A set of five Suarez non-fungible token collectibles created by Dutch-based animation studio Visual Lab drops on Saturday, Nov. 13, and will only be on the market for 72 hours.

And as an added bonus, real-world items (“unlockables”) are paired with the offerings.

NFT No. 1: “Luis Suarez: A Gilded Match”

This is a 1-of-1 auction item featuring Suarez’s boots cast in solid gold and showcased in a glass gallery.

The auction winner will receive an unlockable digital display frame from Infinite Objects. The bidding will begin at $10,000.

NFT No. 2: “Luis Suarez: #IRCs21”

There will be 1,000 interactive Suarez collectibles available out of 1,500, priced at $500 in ERN, a cryptocurrency token based on the Ethereum blockchain, on MAINNET. The Visual Lab artists created a realistic 3D scan of Suarez, animating him in iconic moments and in-match situations.

The coolest aspect of this NFT? It will change visually based on how Suarez plays in his most recent game, displaying as gold, silver, or bronze depending on the level of his performance. One of the 1,000 buyers will win a signed Uruguayan national team jersey by el Pistolero himself.

NFTs 3, 4, and 5: Digital Suarez Trading Cards

This trading card-style set will be separated into Legendary, Epic, and Common varieties. There will be just 200 Legendary cards available out of 300 with Suarez adorned in black and gold in a captured 3D move, and they’ll be sold for $390 in wETH on MAINNET, and one lucky winner will receive a signed SuarezAtlético jersey.

There will be 1,500 Epic NFTs available out of 2,500, being sold for $150 with Suarez bordered in purple and aqua and a changing neon hue. The Common card will feature Suarez in a black pewter hue and a neon border, with 2,000 NFTs available out of 30,000 being sold for $50.

The Suarez NFT drop on Ethernity is part of a series of top athletes who have released limited-edition collections on its platform, joining luminaries like former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi and Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowler Ezekiel Elliott.
