Defending Premier League champions, Liverpool is set to auction off a cast of one-of-a-kind items from their historic training ground at Melwood. The club moved into a brand new training facility in Kirkby last November, and with many sentimental items left behind, the team has decided to post more than 360 lots for auction.
The auction will take place on March 2, with proceeds going to the Liverpool Foundation, which “aims to deliver sustainable and long term change in areas of high need and deprivation across the Liverpool city region.”
Among some of the most notable items up for grabs are the original “Melwood Training Facility” sign, The Champions Wall, Manager Jürgen Klopp’s Couch, and even his suit jackets, waistcoats, and a signed baseball cap. The value of the items in this massive auction is estimated to be over 200,000 pounds, or around $270,000.
Liverpool F.C. is owned by John Henry, who also owns the Boston Red Sox, while LeBron James owns a minority stake in the club as well. Collectors can bid on items starting March 2 at grahambuddauctions.co.uk.
