Apple TV+ Will Charge for MLB Programming

Major League Baseball’s opening day is nearly upon us. Apple TV+ is preparing for another season of broadcasts. Alas, fans will have to pay for play in the upcoming season. Apple TV+ announced on Wednesday that the second season of MLB will now only be available to paying subscribers after games were free in its debut season.

Questlove Launches New Publishing Imprint, AUWA

Is there anything that Questlove cannot do? The entertainer and entrepreneur has racked up six Grammy Awards and an Oscar. His newest endeavor is taking him into a new medium. The founding member of the Roots revealed to The New York Times that he is launching a new imprint in partnership with MCD Books. AUWA Books will support both fiction and nonfiction, and he told the Times it will allow him to further his commitment “to rebuild[ing] the world I never had myself as a kid.”

Ali Krieger Announces Soccer Retirement

Ali Krieger has assembled a lengthy résumé of accomplishments. The Gotham FC star announced on Thursday that the upcoming NWSL season will be her final one. The 38-year-old won two World Cups as a member of the US women’s national team. She will hang up hear cleats following a final tour with Gotham FC, which kicks off its season against Angel City FC this weekend.

SZA Has Something for Everyone in New SKIMS Campaign

In the middle of her sold out tour, SZA dropped a new creative collaboration on Wednesday. The singer is the newest celebrity face of SKIMS and its “Fits Everybody” collection. She joins a long line of celebrities to lend their face to the billion dollar brand. Past models include Snoop Dogg, Iman Shumpert, and Tyra Banks.

Jake Paul, Lil Yachty Settle SEC Crypto Case

In the wake of the FTX meltdown, the government is taking a closer look at the the crypto industry. As part of the regulatory crackdown, Tronix and BitCurrent came under fire for partnering with celebrity ambassadors who failed to reveal their official partnership with the company. The SEC filed a case citing eight individuals, including Lil Yachty, Soulja Boy, Jake Paul, and Lindsay Lohan, for their part. Six of the eight individuals settled on Wednesday, agreeing to pay a  collective total of $400,000. The news comes in the wake of a recent case, in which Kim Kardashian paid out over $1.25 million for a similar collaboration.

Jerry Lorenzo is heading to Hollywood. The Fear of God designer announced that the label will host its first-ever fashion show on April 19 at the Hollywood Bowl. The show signals an upcoming drop for the brand, which has become an industry favorite.
