Mark your calendars – Kobe Bryant’s beloved brand is returning to Nike. The Swoosh’s CEO John Donahoe announced that the company plans to relaunch the Kobe line. Fittingly the first pairs of the next generation will drop on Kobe Day, 8/24. Donahoe noted that Kobe’s legacy at the Swoosh was so much more than sneakers, and that the brand plans to maintain that with an expanded apparel line. This is welcome news to sneakerheads and hoopers alike. In the 2022-23 season, the Kobe 6 was the most popular on-court shoe in the NBA.
'Ted Lasso' Eclipses 1B Minute Streaming Mark with Record-setting Finale
The Season 3 finale of Ted Lasso was one for the record books. According to The Hollywood Reporter, about 1.24 billion minutes of the dramedy was consumed during the week of May 29-June 4, making it the first time any show on Apple’s streaming platform eclipsed a billion minutes. The finale, which aired May 31, contributed to about 42.5% of the total, or about 529 million minutes, making it the highest weekly total for a single episode of Ted Lasso ever.
Carlos Alcaraz Named as Newest Louis Vuitton Ambassador
Tennis star and current world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz is Louis Vuitton’s newest house ambassador. In a video shared to the brand’s social media pages, the 20-year-old said it was a “dream to now be a part of the Louis Vuitton family.” Earlier this year, the reigning U.S. Open champion posed in Calvin Klein’s famous underwear for the company’s “Calvins or Nothing” campaign. Other Louis Vuitton ambassadors include Zendaya, Cate Blanchett, and Chloe Grace Moretz.
JJ Watt Joins CBS Sports As Analyst
J.J. Watt and CBS Sports have agreed to a multi-year deal wherein the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year will serve as an NFL studio analyst across all platforms. “I love the game too much to be away from it entirely. I’m very excited to be joining CBS Sports to contribute across all their NFL shows and platforms, including working alongside and learning from JB, Coach, Boomer, Phil, and Nate this fall,” Watt said about his new gig. “Hopefully fans will enjoy the insights and knowledge I’ve gained over my 12 years in the NFL and if we’re lucky, we’ll share a few laughs along the way as well.” Watt will make his first appearance on The NFL Today in Week 1.

Over the last 15 months, 10 NFL players have been suspended for gambling violations, with punishments ranging from six games to indefinitely. While sports betting is legal in select states, you’re not exactly encouraged to participate if you’re a professional athlete. The first player disciplined, Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Calvin Ridley, will make his return to the field after a year away. One of the latest people sanctioned for betting is Indiana Colts CB Isaiah Rodgers, whose indefinite suspension of at least one year was handed down Thursday.

Hot Ones, Grubhub Team Up for Chicken Wing Pop-Up
Grubhub is encouraging New Yorkers to test their tolerance for heat with the launch of the first-ever Hot Ones delivery pop-up. In partnership with First We Feast, the exclusive pop-up will give diners in select locations across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens the chance to get their hands on the show’s famous spicy chicken wings and hot sauces starting June 29. The Hot Ones delivery pop-up in NYC celebrates eight years and 300 Hot Ones episodes. According to Variety, host Sean Evans has consumed approximately 3,000 chicken wings on camera since the program began.
