Rihanna Helps Puma Boost Annual Outlook

Rihanna is returning to Puma. Back in May, the Barbadian billionaire announced that she will resume her collaboration with the German sportswear label after a hiatus, with a collection expected to drop this fall. Additionally, the company’s quarterly earnings report showed an 11% year-over-year increase in sales. Puma CEO Arne Freundt reflected on the positive projections, noting the appeal of the upcoming collections in major markets including the United States and China, which is expected to keep sales on an upwards trajectory.

However, with no agreement on the horizon, Snoop took matters into his own hands. He wrote in a statement on social media, “We continue to stand in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in the WGA and SAG-AFTRA during this difficult time and remain hopeful that the AMPTP will come back to the negotiating table with a REAL proposal and we can all get back to work.”

Rob Manfred received some job security on Wednesday. Major League Baseball revealed that its 30 owners voted to extend the commissioner’s contract through the 2029 season. The news comes as Manfred had one year remaining on his present contract, having succeeded Bud Selig in 2015. However, he has not been a stranger to controversy during his time in the position. This season, the league has seen a bit of a resurgence due to shorter games resulting from technology and rule innovations, which are targeted toward attracting a younger fanbase.

Universal Music Group is continuing to see massive growth. Revenue is up 8.8% year-over-year, bringing the total figure close to a resounding $3 billion. Perhaps the most promising element of the report is the fact that the company demonstrated growth across all aspects of the business, including streaming, recorded music, and more.
