Colin Kaepernick Inks Representation Deal with CAA

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is now a Creative Arts Agency (CAA) client, first reported by Deadline. The news comes after Kaepernick and ABC News Studios released the trailer for their new Hulu true crime docuseries, Killing County, in addition to a multi-part documentary he will be producing alongside Jemele Hill.

Southwest Rides Out Holiday Travel Meltdown with $200M Q4 Earnings Loss

As airlines continue to cut losses stemming from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Southwest Airlines took a huge hit in the fourth quarter of 2022. The company announced Thursday that it lost $200 million in Q4 following its holiday disaster in which Winter Storm Elliot caused widespread cancellations (nearly 17,000) from Dec. 20-26. That cost the company roughly $800 million in pretax profits. “I can’t say it enough. We messed up,” said Southwest CEO Bob Jordan. “We have work to do to repair trust, but our customers are very loyal and we’re seeing that loyalty.”

Serena Williams and North West to Take Over the Silver Screen in Paw Patrol Movie

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter, North, is ready for her first movie. In a collaboration between Nickelodeon Movies, Paramount Pictures, and Spin Master Entertainment — PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie will be an animated motion picture that will also feature Serena Williams and several other big names. “This year marks the 10th anniversary of the PAW Patrol franchise and what better way to celebrate than the release of our second feature film,” the Spin Master president of entertainment and producer Jennifer Dodge told Variety.

Buzzfeed Taps ChatGPT for Content Production

Journalists beware. Buzzfeed announced on Thursday that it will utilize ChatGPT to produce some content on the struggling site. CEO, Jonah Peretti, distributed a memo to the company’s employees in which he said, “In 2023, you’ll see AI inspired content move from an R&D stage to part of our core business, enhancing the quiz experience, informing our brainstorming, and personalizing our content for our audience.” The news drove the stock price up during market hours on Thursday, driving it as high as $2.88, a 140% surge from its 24-hour low of $1.21.

Puma and June Ambrose Debut First Co-branded Collection

June Ambrose is only getting started. The iconic designer linked up with Puma basketball in 2021, signing on as its creative director. Now, Ambrose and Puma have linked for its first co-branded collection, “Keeping Score.” The collection leans on a navy and burgundy colorway. It also will offer Ambrose’s classic Puma Ralph Sampson and Prevail sneakers.
