Coinbase Breaks the Internet with Super Bowl Ad

The battle of the Super Bowl ads did not disappoint this year. Everyone from Serena Williams (for TONAL and Michelob Ultra) to Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen showed up in a spot. However, it was Coinbase’s stripped down commercial featuring a QR code promising “free Bitcoin” that had people buzzing. The company reports that its site temporarily crashed due to the sheer volume of traffic. Prior to the start of the big game, Coinbase was #168 in Apple’s App Store, but saw an instant payoff as it sits at #2 today.

Drake Cashes in on Odell Beckham Jr. Bet

We all remember the Summer of 2016 when OBJ moved into Drake’s Toronto home for a bit and revelry ensued. The OVO rapper placed a $500,000 bet on his old friend scoring a touchdown, and was rewarded handsomely. OBJ hauled in a signature acrobatic catch in the first quarter, cashing in the bet. Eminem Debuts Air Shady, Defies NFL with Kneel

There is no arguing that SBLVI ranks among the pantheon of great halftime performances. Amidst the nostalgic hits, Eminem debuted his new collab with Jordan Brand, the “Air Shady,” an Air Jordan 3 PE. The red and black colorways rocked a “Slim Shady” decal on the back, and a signature backwards E on the tongue. Amidst the performance, during which he slayed a rendition of “Lose Yourself” with Anderson .Paak crushing it on the drums, the Detroit native took a knee despite pre-game reports that the NFL had prohibited him from doing so. There is no word as to whether or not the Air Shady will be made publicly available.
