As the year-end lists begin to roll out, loyal listeners were gifted their Spotify Wrapped breakdowns on Wednesday. In addition to individual reports, the audio platform revealed the top artists streamed in 2024 and for a second straight year, Taylor Swift sits above the rest. After Swift, Spotify’s most-streamed artists of the year worldwide were The WeekndBad BunnyDrake, and Billie Eilish. Spotify’s most-streamed songs worldwide in this year were Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso,” with more than 1.6 billion streams, followed by Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things,” “Birds of a Feather” by Eilish, “Gata Only” by FloyyMenor and Cris MJ, and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” rounds out the top 5.

Sportico unveiled its list of 2024’s highest-paid female athletes. No other person earned more in endorsements and winnings combined than tennis star Coco Gauff, who took the top spot for a second consecutive year. The tennis star took home $30.4 million, and was followed by followed by freestyle skier Eileen Gu ($22.1 million) and Iga Swiatek ($21.4 million). 

As people continue to rely on artificial intelligence to complete simple tasks, OpenAI is seeing a record number of people visit their platform. During an appearance at The New York Times’ Dealbook Summit, CEO Sam Altman confirmed that ChatGPT has now surpassed 300 million weekly users. This is quite the accomplishment for the company, which eclipsed 200 million weekly ChatGPT users back in August. On Tuesday, Altman also announced “12 Days of OpenAI,” which will feature livestreams every weekday beginning Wednesday, featuring either a product launch or a demo.

A couple months after announcing that rare memorabilia from Tom Brady would be going up for auction, Sotheby’s revealed the actual items available for purchase on Tuesday. The auction will include 41 pieces such as No. 12’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey from the game in which he eclipsed the all-time passing yards record. In addition to sports memorabilia, the stylish GOAT will also auction off several watches, including Audemars Piguet, Rolex, and Patek Phillipe. The event goes live on Dec. 10. 

In an effort to appeal to the casual sports fan, Disney+ introduced a brand new ESPN tile and hub to its app. Framing it as the “next step in both the evolution of Disney+ and also ESPN’s streaming future,” Disney+ president Alisa Bowen said “this launch is really going to reshape what Disney+ is, who it’s for, and what we have to offer.” Disney+ subscribers will gain access to an extended suite of ESPN’s flagship content, including College GameDay30 for 30, and a host of live sports programming.

Award season is officially upon us, and Ariana Grande is set to receive her first accolade for her portrayal of Glinda in the hit film Wicked. The Palm Springs Film Festival confirmed that the entertainer — who is generating Oscar buzz for her performance — will be honored with its Rising Star Award. “In Wicked, Ariana Grande’s portrayal of Glinda elevates her to new heights with a powerful acting performance that beautifully combines her outstanding musical talent, brilliant characterization and impeccable comedic timing,” festival chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi said. Timothée Chalamet will receive the festival’s 2025 Chairman’s Award for his performance as Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s upcoming biopic about the songwriting legend. 

Harry Styles may have taken the year off of releasing new music, but the former member of One Direction has remained busy. Styles has teamed up with the award-winning creative director of LOEWE, designer Jonathan Anderson, on a capsule collection. The curated collection — which will be released via their respective brands, Pleasing and JW Anderson — includes crewnecks, shirts, and bag charms. The limited-run collection will be available at select JW Anderson stores and Pleasing pop-ups in New York and Los Angeles.

Netflix has officially picked up the rights to Little Brother, a comedy feature starring John Cena and Eric Andre. Per Variety, the film is about a well-known real estate agent whose life is turned upside down when his bizarre “little brother” unexpectedly returns. While no release date has been set, Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel have signed onto the write the film’s script, while David Bernad and Ruben Fleischer will serve as producers.
