UConn Revels in One Shining Moment with Fifth National Championship Title

They’re dancing in Storrs. The UConn Huskies entered rare air, joining UCLA and Duke as the only programs to take home five national championships. The Huskies defeated San Diego State 76-59 in Houston. Adama Sanogo took home the evening’s Most Outstanding Player honors, posting a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The game also marked the last March Madness in the booth for iconic CBS broadcaster Jim Nantz.

Women’s Championship Game Brings in 9.9M Viewers, Sets ESPN+ College Hoops Record

Sunday’s women’s NCAA championship matchup between LSU and Iowa will go down as one of the most popular national title games on record. The ESPN Press Room reported that the Sunday broadcast was the most-viewed college women’s basketball broadcast in history with 9.9 million viewers. The broadcast peaked at 12.6 million viewers. The numbers marked a 103% year-over-year increase. It also was the most watched college basketball game in history — men’s or women’s — on ESPN+.

Travis Kelce Taps Machine Gun Kelly for First Annual Kelce Jam

It’s going down in Kansas City. After his acclaimed appearance on Saturday Night Live, the two-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce is bringing his newfound hosting skills to KC. The Chiefs standout announced Kelce Jam, which is set to take place on April 28, the same weekend of the NFL Draft. Machine Gun Kelly, Loud Luxury, Rick Ross, and Tech N9ne will perform in what Kelce is calling “the biggest music festival Kansas City’s ever seen.” It marks a busy weekend for Kelce. He’ll also host a live episode of his hit podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.

Lizzo and Amazon Double-down on First Look Deal

There’s not a lot that Lizzo can’t do. The flute-toting entertainer took home both Emmy and Grammy awards over the last 12 months; now, she’s setting herself up for even more accolades as she extends her first-look deal with Amazon. Her competition show, Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, was a runaway success for the streaming service, taking home three Emmys.

Confirming the news, Lizzo said, “I’ve witnessed lives change through this show and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue making space for even more Big Grrrls around the world to shine and break down barriers across this industry.”

YouTube Expands Coachella Coverage to Include Six Live Streams

It’s been years since Frank Ocean has performed live. However, the countdown is nearly over. Ocean will take the stage as the Sunday night headliner at the upcoming Coachella Music and Arts Festival.
