TikTokโ€™s parent company, ByteDance, has reportedly reached a binding agreement to restructure the ownership of its U.S. operations. The deal, expected to close on Jan. 22, will create a joint venture with majority stakes held by American investors, including Oracle, Silver Lake, and MGX. Under the agreement, these investors will collectively own 45% of the U.S. entity, while existing ByteDance affiliates retain nearly a third, and ByteDance itself keeps roughly 20%. The move resolves a years-long push by U.S. regulators to address national security concerns over Chinese ownership of the popular social media platform.

Earlier rumors linking Saint Laurentโ€™s Anthony Vaccarello to the role have since faded.

On Thursday, the WNBA Players Association granted its executive committee broad authority to initiate a strike if needed, signaling growing tension in negotiations with the league. Talks over a new collective bargaining agreement remain stalled, with the league offering players 15% of revenue โ€” dropping gradually over the contract โ€” while the union is pushing for a starting share of 29% that would increase over time. Both sides remain far apart on key financial terms, with WNBPA executive director Terri Jackson telling CNBC that she is “a little frustrated with where we are right now.”

The delayed report was affected by the government shutdown and missing October data, though shelter costs continued to moderate, signaling progress toward the Federal Reserveโ€™s 2% inflation goal.
