Just over two months after Lewis Hamilton was named the newest Dior brand ambassador and guest designer for the next lifestyle collection, the luxury fashion house has unveiled the new looks that will soon hit the market. Per the Women’s Wear Daily exclusive, products from the capsule draw inspiration from Hamilton’s love of snowboarding. The après-ski ensembles arrive in the form of oversized and knit sweaters with wide-legged pants, while accessories include the Dior 8 backpack and messenger rider 2.0. Footwear completes the campaign with B44 and B33 sneaker silhouettes. The collection drops in Dior boutiques and online on Oct. 17.
Charles Barkley Launches Production Company with Support from Jeff Zucker’s RedBird
Charles Barkley has launched Round Mound Media, Variety reported Tuesday, a production company in partnership with EverWonder Studio and support from Jeff Zucker’s RedBird IMI. With Barkley’s longtime manager Marc Perman serving as President, Round Mound Media will live in the scripted, documentary, and live programming space, with 10 projects already in development, including a project about Barkley’s life. Barkley will continue to work exclusively with TNT Sports, while the company will “have a first look at all of Barkley’s sports-related projects developed with Round Mound,” per the report.
Nike Posts Mixed Q1 Results, Postpones Investor Day Amid CEO Swap
Nike posted a mixed bag of first-quarter results on Tuesday, beating Wall Street estimates for earnings per share at $0.70 but recording a 10% drop in revenue from 2023 at $11.6 billion. Profits for Swoosh-owned Converse came in at $501 million, a 15% decline year-over-year, while sales in China came in slightly above expectations at $1.67 billion, further illustrating the up-and-down report. Nike also announced Tuesday it has postponed its investor day, which was previously scheduled for November. All of this comes on the heels of the sportswear giant announcing the return of former senior executive Elliott Hill to replace John Donahoe as CEO.

‘SNL’ Records Biggest Premiere Since 2020 as Over 5M Tune In to 50th Season
The 50th season of Saturday Night Live is already off to a great start, with NBC sharing Tuesday that 5.3 million people watched the premiere live. This is the program’s biggest premiere opening since 2020 when Chris Rock hosted with musical guest Megan Thee Stallion. Emmy Award winner Jean Smart opened the monumental 50th season as host while Jelly Roll performed. Viewers were treated to surprise cameos like Dana Carvery and Maya Rudolph reprising their roles as President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, respectively, and alum Andy Samberg returning to play Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, and comedian Jim Gaffigan playing Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. MLS Aims to Expand Global Audience with One Football Partnership
MLS confirmed Tuesday a partnership with German digital media platform OneFootball to provide league coverage to a global audience. Under this collaboration, OneFootball will gain access to MLS matches and highlights in addition to hundreds of MLS NEXT Pro matches and MLS NEXT matches per season. OneFootball can be accessed via a mobile app, TV streaming app, and website, and will provide new content internationally as well as through its co-branded partnership and content hub with Yahoo Sports stateside.
Doja Cat Partners With Airbnb for Unique Fan Experience
Doja Cat and Airbnb have teamed up to provide fans with an immersive living room performance courtesy of the property rental company. For one night only, 15 lucky individuals will be treated to an intimate evening complete with a listening session and the artist performing some of her favorite songs. While the Doja Cat-Airbnb experience is scheduled for Oct. 26, the booking request period will open on Oct. 8 for $77 per attendee. “I’ve spent the last year performing on the world’s biggest stages, and now I’m ready to share my art with fans in a more intimate setting,” Doja Cat said.
‘Industry’ Creators Ink 3-Year Deal With HBO
The duo behind Industry have agreed to a three-year overall deal with HBO, Deadline reported Tuesday. Set to begin in January 2025, Mickey Down and Konrad Kay said in a statement expressing their gratitude “to HBO, the incredible team at Bad Wolf and our phenomenal cast and crew for their continued belief in Industry and for allowing us to grow as creators, writers and now directors whilst taking the show to new heights.”
