Kamala Harris is hitting the presidential campaign trail to a familiar soundtrack. Harris walked out to her first official event as the front-running Democratic nominee to Beyoncé’s hit song, “Freedom,” featuring Kendrick Lamar. CNN reports that Beyoncé’s camp granted permission to the Harris campaign to utilize the song. Knowles-Carter is notoriously protective of her songs’ usage; however, she has not formally endorsed Harris at this time.

The WNBA All-Star Game over the weekend generated an audience of 3.44 million viewers, according to The Athletic. The total number tuning in obliterated the previous record of 1.44 million set in 2003 and reflected a 305% increase in viewership year over year. It was the most-watched WNBA broadcast on any ESPN platform in history and the third-highest overall WNBA broadcast in history. The game also served as the 17th WNBA televised matchup to generate more than 1 million viewers. 

Ahead of last week’s big game, Boardroom x Coinbase put on one of the weekend’s most exciting events, co-hosted by Sabrina Ionescu and Jewell Loyd, with some of the biggest names in the W pulling up and featuring a performance by Flau’jae Johnson.

Snoop Dogg is booked and busy in Paris. The entertainer will join the NBCUniversal crew as an official commentator at this summer’s Olympics. However, prior to stepping onto the production set, Snoop will carry the official torch during one of the final legs through the streets of Saint-Denis, as it works its way to light the Olympic cauldron. Snoop has been training for this moment, having shown up to clock a 200-meter trial at last month’s US Track and Field trials.

Staring down the second half of the MLB season, two greats are starting something new. Jimmy Rollins and Ryan Howard are teaming up once more for their new podcast, The 6-1-1. The former Phillies rolled out their first episode on Tuesday, featuring CC Sabathia. The show will dive into the culture of America’s pastime, bringing in some of the biggest names to help them dig deep into some of the best-untold stories in the game.

The Venice Film Festival revealed a star-studded lineup for 2024 on Tuesday, including the anticipated premiere of Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in Joker: Folie à Deux. Apple’s Wolfs, starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney, will debut at the festival, while other stars such as Angeline Jolie (Maria) and Nicole Kidman (Babygirl) will also see their movies premiere in Italy. After reports circulated that Google was all set to acquire Wiz, the cybersecurity firm decided to walk away from a seemingly done deal with the Big Tech giant, which valued Wiz at $23 billion. Instead, it has turned its eyes to Wall Street with the intention of going public. “Saying no to such humbling offers is tough,” Wiz Co-founder Assaf Rappaport told employees in a memo obtained by CNBC. The news comes the same day as Google’s parent company, Alphabet, released its earnings report, which saw increased revenue for the tech titan, driven by cloud computing and search engine ad sales. However, ads in its YouTube business line fell short of expectations.

It’s good to be Spotify. The popular music streaming service reported a 20% year-over-year total revenue increase of $4.15 billion for the second quarter, sending its stock up an additional 12% Tuesday morning. Despite recently raising its subscription prices, Spotify reported it added 7 million subscribers last quarter, a million more than what was projected. Overall, the company boasts 626 million total monthly active users. 

After teasing the collaboration during Paris Fashion Week in February, Off-White and Wilson officially dropped their limited-edition basketballs on Tuesday. The collab includes two basketballs: a traditional Wilson basketball featuring Off-White staples such as “OFFF” and “AUTOGRAPH HERE” and an exclusive edition of Wilson’s new Airless Gen1 with minimal Off-White branding. One can cop the traditional ball on July 30, while the Airless Gen1 will be made available later this year.
