Stephen Curry officially unveiled his updated logo after signing a reported 10-year, $400 million endorsement deal with Li-Ning. The refreshed mark blends Curry’s signature logo with Li-Ning’s branding and marks the start of a global expansion for Curry Brand following the end of his partnership with Under Armour. The deal also includes basketball footwear, lifestyle apparel, golf products, and the ability to sign athletes under Curry Brand.

Paramount Skydance agreed to exit its international film distribution joint venture with Universal, United International Pictures, in an effort to secure European Union approval for its $111 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The concession addresses antitrust concerns from European cinema operators, with the European Commission extending its review deadline to July 22. The U.S. Department of Justice has already approved the deal, while U.K. regulators continue conducting a separate review.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage averaged 5.1 million U.S. viewers across Fox, FS1 and Tubi, up 92% from 2022 and the highest English-language group stage average. The USMNTโ€™s win over Paraguay drew more than 18 million viewers, setting a new all-time U.S. World Cup broadcast mark. Getty Images and Shutterstock have ditched their planned $3.7 billion merger after the U.K.โ€™s Competition and Markets Authority required the divestiture of Shutterstockโ€™s editorial business. Getty called the condition a non-starter, ending a deal that would have consolidated two major stock image platforms and delivered up to $200 million in expected cost synergies. The companies now plan to explore separate strategic financing options moving forward.

Kroger agreed to acquire regional grocer Giant Eagle in a $1.65 billion deal aimed at expanding its footprint in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. Giant Eagle operates about 197 supermarkets and 11 pharmacies across several states and generates roughly $9 billion in annual sales. The deal marks Krogerโ€™s first major acquisition since its failed $25 billion Albertsons merger and is expected to close in 2027, adding to profits by its second full year.

Dwight Howard is set to star in and executive-produce the vertical short-form series The Escape Room: Truth or Dis., which will debut as a launch title for new streaming platform Tap In Shorts. The psychological thriller follows strangers trapped in a deadly game that forces them to confront hidden truths. The project marks one of Howardโ€™s first major acting roles, as the platform rolls out additional original vertical series content.

Sony Interactive Entertainment will end physical disc production for all new PlayStation games starting in January 2028, shifting releases fully to digital distribution via the PlayStation Store and select retailers. The company said the move reflects a long-running consumer shift away from discs toward digital access, noting that it wonโ€™t affect titles released before the cutoff date. The transition marks a major step in the industryโ€™s broader move toward digital-only console gaming.

The Los Angeles Lakers began reshaping their roster for the postโ€“LeBron era, reportedly acquiring center Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz in a blockbuster trade for unprotected 2031 and 2033 first-round picks plus 2028 and 2030 swaps.
