Jay-Z is set to revisit his 30-year career in JAลธ-Z In 8, an eight-part documentary series directed by Rick Rubin that will premiere on HBO Max this fall. The project features in-depth conversations about his music, life, and creative process as he reflects on the experiences behind his catalog. The series arrives as Jay-Z marks the anniversary of Reasonable Doubt and prepares a run of milestone live shows at venues including Yankee Stadium.

The Charlotte Hornets are trading LaMelo Ball and Josh Green to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Naz Reid and a package of future draft capital, including a 2033 first-round pick, multiple second-rounders, and pick swaps, per numerous reports. The move pairs Ball with Anthony Edwards in Minnesota, reshaping the Wolvesโ€™ backcourt, while Charlotte adds assets after a strong late-season surge. Ball averaged 20.1 points and 7.1 assists last season across 72 games.

Sony Pictures Television has tapped IMG Licensing to launch the first-ever global licensing program for the Breaking Bad universe, spanning Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and El Camino. The multi-year partnership will create consumer products, brand collaborations, and immersive fan experiences across categories, including apparel, collectibles, food and beverage, travel, and live activations. The move aims to extend one of televisionโ€™s most iconic franchises beyond the screen and deepen engagement with its global fan base.

Netflix dropped the official trailer for The Hawk on Thursday, its upcoming golf comedy series starring Will Ferrell. Premiering July 16, the show follows former world No. 1 golfer Lonnie โ€œThe Hawkโ€ Hawkins as he attempts an unlikely comeback and chases the one major championship missing from his rรฉsumรฉ to complete a career Grand Slam. The series also stars Molly Shannon, Jimmy Tatro, and Fortune Feimster, with Ferrell executive producing through Gloria Sanchez Productions.

The WNBPA has reelected Nneka Ogwumike as president for a fourth term, extending a tenure that began in 2016 and most recently included leading negotiations for the leagueโ€™s landmark new collective bargaining agreement. Napheesa Collier was elected first vice president, replacing Kelsey Plum, who did not seek reelection. Collier, a key figure in the recent CBA talks, moves up after serving as a union vice president since 2022 as the players enter a new era of growth and compensation.

Anthropic has accused Alibaba of running a large-scale effort to โ€œillicitlyโ€ extract its AI capabilities, alleging in a letter to U.S. lawmakers that the Chinese tech giant conducted what it called the largest known โ€œdistillation attackโ€ on its models. The company claims operators carried out roughly 28.8 million interactions using thousands of fake accounts to replicate its systems. Boardroom CEO Rich Kleiman has joined the board of mental health nonprofit Project Healthy Minds, expanding the organizationโ€™s roster of high-profile leaders across media, sports, and entertainment. Kleiman, who co-founded Boardroom with Kevin Durant, will help scale the groupโ€™s mission to expand access to mental health resources and awareness. He joins board members including Carson Daly, Jody Gerson, Michael Kassan, and Kalen Jackson as the nonprofit continues to grow its cultural footprint and advocacy efforts.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are selling a 5%โ€“10% minority stake to private equity firm Blue Owl, reportedly valuing the NBA franchise and its upcoming WNBA team at $5.5 billion. The deal comes after a strong postseason run and reflects surging league valuations across the NBA. Owner Dan Gilbert, who bought the team in 2005, will retain control as institutional investors continue increasing their exposure to pro sports franchises.

The 2026 ESPY Awards nominees are in, with Jalen Brunson, Lionel Messi, Shohei Ohtani, and Mikaela Shiffrin headlining this yearโ€™s ballot. AI music platform Suno has launched a new โ€œSparkโ€ incubator program for independent artists, offering grants, mentorship, and marketing support as it works to deepen ties with the creator community. The initiative targets unsigned musicians and aims to help them develop and distribute their work. The move comes as Suno continues expanding amid legal disputes with major record labels over AI training practices, even as it pursues partnerships and growing investment in the fast-evolving AI music space.

Micron shares surged after the company reported blockbuster fiscal third-quarter earnings driven by booming demand for AI-driven memory chips. Revenue more than quadrupled year over year to about $41.5 billion, beating expectations, while the company forecast roughly $50 billion next quarter as hyperscaler data center demand accelerates. Micron has also locked in long-term supply deals, reinforcing confidence in the AI infrastructure buildout.

Paramount has secured exclusive U.S. linear TV rights to the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts film franchises through a multi-year licensing deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, covering all 11 movies. The agreement will bring marathon airings across MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, and Paramount Network starting July 3. The move expands Paramountโ€™s franchise portfolio as it continues integrating WBD assets, while a separate Harry Potter television series remains in development for HBO.
