Stephen Curry isn’t retiring, but the Golden State Warriors star is taking on a new role as an assistant general manager for the basketball programs at his alma mater, Davidson College. Making history as the first active athlete to take on an administrative role at the NCAA level, the four-time NBA Finals champion will work with GM Austin Buntz to guide both the men’s and women’s teams as well as kickstart an eight-figure fund alongside his wife, Ayesha, Davidson boosters, and Matt Berman, a fellow alum who was also named an assistant GM with Curry. 

Doechii is adding to her incredible run to kick off 2025 after she was named Billboard’s 2025 Woman of the Year on Monday. In the announcement, Billboard lauded the Grammy Award winner for “her genre-blending sound” and “redefining what it means to be a trailblazer in the music industry.” Doechii will be honored during the annual Billboard Women in Music ceremony on March 29.

Former first lady Michelle Obama is launching a podcast with her brother, NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson, she announced Monday. Produced by Higher Ground — the production arm she co-founded with husband and former POTUS Barack Obama — the IMO podcast will see the duo share their thoughts on questions submitted by listeners. Premiering on March 12, the brother-sister duo will be joined by special guests along the way, such as Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Seth Rogan.

Star Liberty point guard Sabrina Ionescu is set to return to her alma mater, the University of Oregon, on May 12 when the team takes on the Toyota Antelopes of the Women’s Japan Basketball League as part of New York’s preseason schedule. Ionescu will also coordinate team activities and community events throughout the weekend of the matchup. The reigning WNBA champions will also play a May 9 home preseason game at Barclays Center against the Connecticut Sun.

Performers for the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards were announced Monday, and scheduled to take the stage are Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, GloRilla, Gracie Abrams, Kenny Chesney, Muni Long, and Nelly. LL Cool J will host the star-studded affair once again when it airs live from the Dolby Theatre on March 17 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.

A one-of-one Air Jordan 11 sneaker made for Prince was sold at an auction for $100,000. According to Hypebeast, the “Purple Rain” colorway was created for the legendary artist, but Prince passed before they were given to him. The kicks boast unique features like a suede upper and tongue, metallic silver Jumpman logos, and custom insoles with “Jumpman” written in Prince’s iconic font.

The Athletes Unlimited Softball League plans to play in 10 cities from June 7 to July 23 for its inaugural season, according to Monday’s release. The four teams are the Bandits, Blaze, Talons, and Volts, and they’ll compete across the nation in Wichita, Chattanooga, Tuscaloosa, and just outside Chicago in Rosemont, Illinois. After regular season games are complete, the top two teams will play in the AUSL Championship, a best-of-three series July 26-28 in Tuscaloosa.

The United States SailGP team recently announced the addition of DJ Khaled to its Board of Directors as its Chief Hype Officer. The award-winning producer joins the likes of ski legend Lindsey Vonn, 2-time world champion sailor Mike Buckley, and team co-owner and chairman Ryan McKillen. Khaled will represent SailGP in this ambassador role, helping it make strategic business decisions as it plays out its fifth season, which began in Dubai in November.

LSU women’s basketball star Flau’jae Johnson and Experian are teaming up on a relief campaign to help eliminate $5 million of debt for 5,000 families in Louisiana. And because we’re about to enter the most exciting period of the college basketball season, there is an added bonus. For every LSU win in the March Madness tournament, Experian will forgive an additional $100,000 in consumer debt (up to $500,000 total).

Now that award season is complete, Ariana Grande is turning her focus back to music, announcing to her 376 million Instagram followers that a deluxe version of her seventh studio album will release on March 28. Titled Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead, the new project will feature six new tracks. There is no word on whether it will feature any special guests.
