Deadfellaz, Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Reveal Limited-edition Apparel Drop

Last Updated: July 20, 2023
The coveted NFT collection and world-famous DJ combined for a spooky collection of skate decks, hoodies, a varsity jacket, and t-shirts set to drop at DEADZONE LA.

The Deadfellaz NFT community and Dim Mak, Steve Aoki’s record label and apparel line, are collaborating to release a limited-edition fashion capsule.

The Deadfellaz x Dim Mak collection was custom-designed by the NFT project’s co-founders Betty and Psych, its illustrator, Leon Lee, and Aoki himself. The capsule features skate decks, hoodies, a varsity jacket, and t-shirts, and is set to drop on Oct. 29. Deadfellaz x Dim Mak will be available for purchase in person at Deadfellaz’s Halloween premiere event, DEADZONE LA.

“[Steve Aoki] has embraced Web3 and helped shape the space as it is so far, which has been especially impactful given his incredible success given his incredible success in a multitude of spaces like music, fashion, art, tech, and more,” Betty and Psyche said in a joint statement. “This collaboration comes a year after Steve DJ’d an exclusive set for The Horde at our very first Deadfellaz metaverse event last Halloween, so it feels very special to us.”

DEADZONE LA is a ticketed, one-night event that brings together the Deadfellaz community to enjoy music, art, DJ performances from EMO NITE and special guests, and a multi-sensory metaverse experience.

The limited-edition apparel will feature signature green characters that resemble Betty, Psych, Aoki, and the Deadfellaz universe. The collection’s most coveted piece is a varsity jacket that will be exclusively available to A0k1verse and Deadfellaz NFT holders and will be sold online after DEADZONE LA. Each jacket comes with a microchip that activates a twin digital wearable.

All other unsold apparel will be available to the general public to purchase after the event at dimmakcollection.com.

“NFTs and Web3 are the future — it has been such an adventure to create alongside pioneers such as Betty and Psych of the Deadfellaz Horde,” Aoki said in an official news release. “Deadfellaz is an incredible project and a community that I am proud to also be a part of.”

All About Deadfellaz?

Deadfellaz is a gender-neutral NFT project that features green characters with randomized traits and attributes. The Web3 brand has launched three NFT collections, including an inaugural eponymous collection, Betty Pop Horror, and Deadfrenz. Their broader NFT community — better known as “The Horde” — is comprised of nearly 7,000 holders including Aoki, Odell Beckham Jr., Alexis Ohanian, Reese Witherspoon, Lionel Richie, and Lil Baby.

Deadfellaz previously partnered with denim brand Wrangler to develop a choose-your-own interactive storyline. The Deadfellaz community picked the plot outcome that resulted in a digital comic strip. Deadfellaz selected 13 winners who participated in the comic’s creation to receive vintage Wrangler jeans equipped with a scannable chip that holds the NFT of the comic strip.

The Horde can expect to see more from this Deadfellaz and Wrangler partnership.

Deadfellaz also teamed up with the Chicago Bulls for an initiative that called on the NFT community to reimage the NBA team’s iconic logo into digital artwork.

Psych took on the challenge and created a Deadfellaz-inspired bull.

To commemorate their new partnership, Betty, Psyche, and Aoki will participate in Deadfellaz’s weekly #FellazFriday Twitter Space on Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. ET to discuss the new collab.
