The DJ’s crypto adventures continue with an all-new metaverse fan community powered by NFTs.
Steve Aoki is no rookie on the subjects of blockchain technology and NFTs. But on Thursday, the world-famous DJ took things a huge step forward with the launch of his very own virtual world harnessing the powers of the ever-expanding frontier of Web3:
Welcome to the AOK1VERSE.
Aoki’s metaversal move is powered by two main components:
- AOK1 Credits, crypto tokens capped at a total circulation of 50,000 that act as the AOK1VERSE’s currency.
- The Passport, a dynamic NFT purchasable with AOK1 Credits that provides access to specific rewards and experiences, both on-chain and IRL. The tier of access afforted to users by their Passports depends on the number of Credits they hold when they redeem.
The first public release of AOK1 Credits will include a run of 25,000, with current Steve Aoki NFT owners getting priority access. The remaining 25,000 are available as rewards for existingAOK1VERSE community members.
Redeemable swag and experiences for Passport-holders will include:
- Live concert tickets
- Virtual engagements inside The Sandbox metaverse
- Apparel
- NFT drops
- Other virtual wearables and collectible items
“Since I started my first company, Dim Mak, back in 1996 I have cared for, grown, and embraced the concept of community,” Aoki said via Coin Rivet. “Now as we look at the future of what our community wants, I believe that the utility needs to be diverse, engaging, and evolving with culture.”
Steve Aoki has been around the world several times over — the physical world. With the AOK1VERSE, the beat takes over an entirely new plane of existence.
