American Horror Story Season 13 has been officially confirmed by Ryan Murphy in a Halloween Instagram post, with the season expected to premiere in 2026. The star-studded cast includes Ariana Grande, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, and Jessica Lange – all veterans of Murphy’s past projects. The season will mark a reunion for Grande, Roberts, and Lourd from Scream Queens, and notably feature Lange’s surprise return after previously saying she wouldn’t come back to the franchise.

Netflix has reportedly hired financial advisory firm Moelis & Co. to explore a possible bid for Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming and studio assets. The move gives Netflix access to WBD’s financial details as it evaluates the feasibility of an offer. While reports state the company is “looking into” the opportunity, Netflix has not commented publicly. Co-CEOs Greg Peters and Ted Sarandos have both previously downplayed interest in major acquisitions, with Peters emphasizing organic growth over mergers and Sarandos reiterating Netflix’s lack of interest in owning traditional media networks.

The WNBA and the players’ union have agreed to a 30-day extension to continue negotiations on a new collective bargaining agreement, with either side able to end the extension with two days’ notice. The current CBA was set to expire Friday amid rising tensions over salary and player benefits. The new Nov. 30 deadline gives both sides more time to reach what the union calls a “transformational” deal. Talks have been ongoing this week, including meetings in New York, echoing a similar extension in 2019 that led to the current CBA being finalized in early 2020.

Disney’s channels, including ESPN, ABC, and FX, have been pulled from YouTube TV after the two companies failed to reach a new distribution agreement before the Thursday night deadline. The blackout affects about 10 million subscribers. The main dispute centers on carriage fees, with Disney seeking higher payments for its channels, particularly ESPN, which carries costly sports content. YouTube TV accused Disney of using the standoff to favor its own competing services, Hulu + Live TV and Fubo, while Disney argued that YouTube TV refused to pay rates consistent with other distributors.

LeBron James unveiled his newest children’s book, Happy Spooky Halloween, but you’ll have to wait until next year to read it. Illustrated by Ariel Landy and published by HarperCollins Children’s Books, the 32-page picture book will hit shelves on July 21. The story follows Zara and her friends as they brave a Halloween party at Hickory Elementary that turns unexpectedly spooky, teaching them about courage and teamwork along the way.

UEFA confirmed Friday that Bayern Munich’s stadium will host the 2028 Champions League final, while the 2029 final will be decided between Wembley Stadium in London and Barcelona’s renovated Camp Nou. The announcement rules out long-rumored plans for a New York final until at least 2030. Munich was the sole bidder for 2028, having hosted the final last season, while the upgraded Camp Nou – set to become Europe’s largest stadium at 105,000 seats – hasn’t hosted since 1999. The next couple of finals are scheduled for Budapest in 2026 and Atlético Madrid’s stadium in 2027.

Sony Pictures has officially announced that Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood, and Mia McKenna-Bruce have joined the cast of The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event. They will portray Linda McCartney, Yoko Ono, Pattie Boyd, and Maureen Starkey – the women who married members of The Beatles during the band’s 1960s fame. The project, directed by Sam Mendes, was previously reported by Variety, but the actresses’ deals were finalized this week, prompting the official confirmation.

Warner Bros. is reportedly in final talks to acquire Shiver, a sci-fi thriller starring Keanu Reeves and directed by Deadpool filmmaker Tim Miller. The project is being produced by Aaron Ryder (Dumb Money) and Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman), with a script from Ian Shorr. Described as a blend of Edge of Tomorrow and The Shallows, the film follows a smuggler caught in a deadly double-cross in the Caribbean, only to find himself trapped in a time loop as he fights to survive and break free.
