Sotheby’s Auctioning Off Rare, Complete “Entourage” Sneaker Set

The Nikes made for the iconic HBO series are going for as much as $50,000 at Sotheby’s. Auctions run through Wednesday.

HBO’s Entourage is not only one of the most popular series of its era, offering an inside look at the frantic and star-studded ecosystem of celebrity and wealth — it’s also proven to be an aggressive vehicle for product placement, perhaps more than any show before it.

Before the key characters launched their own tequila or ventured off into a series of other episode integrations, you would often see the quartet of Vince, Drama, Turtle, and Eric lacing up fresh sneakers with their everyday wear

Now, fans can get their hands onan entire set of sneakers made exclusively for the Entourage cast and employees, dubbed The Entourage Collection and up for auction at Sotheby’s.

As the show continued to gain fans, Nike began creating and sending special-edition and player-exclusive pairs of both its newest hoop shoes and its past classics to the cast.

The crown jewel of the auction includes the mythical white and gleaming gold “Fukijama” Air Force 1 Lows from 2006, which have already received three bids and currently stands at $50,000.

Laser etched and crafted by Nike’s Mark Smith at the time in real life, the shoes were scripted into the show as an elusive designer collaboration launched at LA’s then-relatively-new Undefeated boutique, that Turtle had to get his hands on. The shoes were given to members of the show in a custom white box with laser etched graphics along the lid, and have rarely popped up for sale in the years since.

The alternate Carolina blue Air Force 1 Low from the same episode is also up for auction, along with a Friends & Family-only Dunk SB Low, with a blue SB box signed by members of the show’s cast. Both of those sneakers are hovering around the $10,000 bid mark for now.

Performance models like 2008’s Hyperdunk and Chris Paul’s CP3.8 AE are also included in the listings to round out The Entourage Collection. Originally made for Jerry Ferrara in celebration of his Turtle character, the navy and Carolina blue shoes also feature a turtle shell graphic along the upper.

Several items already have bids well into the tens of thousands, which is nothing new for Sotheby’s. They recently sold an original Michael Jordan-worn Air Ship for $1.47 million. The Entourage Collection auction will close next week on Nov. 10.
