To help celebrate its historic 25th season, the WNBA is getting into the NFT game.

On Tuesday, the league, the WNBPA, OneTeam Partners, and NBA Top Shot creator Dapper Labs announced that non-fungible token Moments from the WNBA are coming to basketball’s preeminent digital collectibles platform.

On Aug. 27, fans can expect celebrated highlights featuring current stars and Hall of Famers alike, including reigning league MVP A’ja Wilson of theLas Vegas Aces and two-time WNBA champ and four-time Olympic gold medalist Lisa Leslie.  Starting today, Top Shot enthusiasts will be able to sign up for a chance to reserve a piece of this groundbreaking collection of Moments from the W.

“In their monumental 25th season, we couldn’t be more excited to debut the WNBA and the players on Top Shot,” said Caty Tedman, Head of Partnerships at Dapper Labs.  “We’re focused on revolutionizing how fans connect to the sports and players they love and share a goal to transform the fan experience.  In the spirit of the iconic and trailblazing league they are, this launch is just the beginning of what we have in store for the W and its fans.”
