Michael Vick & Brett Favre to Clash in FaZe Clan Flag Football Game

Vick and Favre will quarterback opposing teams in a game Saturday as part of the NFL’s Super Bowl Experience.

The NFL and FaZe Clan have joined forces on a series of activations at the intersection of football and gaming, the companies announced on Tuesday. It all begins the day before Super Bowl 56 with a flag football game starring Michael Vick and Brett Favre.

Vick and Favre, not surprisingly, will play as the quarterbacks in a battle between FaZe Clan and creator collective A.M.P.

FaZe’s team will feature FaZe Temperrr, FaZe Adapt, FaZe Swagg, FaZe Nate Hill, FaZe Kaysan, social media influencer Jenna Bandy, and football player and actress Toni Harris.

Good Morning Football‘s Kyle Brandt will host the event Saturday at 4 p.m. ET from the Los Angeles Convention Center as part of the NFL’s Super Bowl Experience and will be live-streamed on FaZe Clan’s YouTube and Twitch channels.

“Gaming continues to be a core pillar within the broader NFL strategy,” said Ian Trombetta, the NFL’s senior vice president of social influencer and content marketing. “In addition, our enhanced relationship will include first-ever activations and initiatives throughout the 2022-23 season aimed at engaging our casual Gen Z fans. Teaming up with FaZe enables us to leverage our platforms to authentically engage with and celebrate the next generation of fans at the intersection of gaming, football, and culture.”

The announcement comes a week after FaZe forged an apparel partnership with NASCAR in conjunction with last weekend’s Clash at the Coliseum in Los Angeles.

FaZe and the NFL have teamed up in the past, first at the 2020 NFL Draft with a merchandise collaboration to benefit COVID-19 relief. Last year, Arizona Cardinals star quarterback Kyler Murray joined FaZe Clan as a team member. Murray joined Bronny James and FaZe on the cover of Sports Illustrated last summer, the first esports team to grace the storied magazine’s front page.

The NFL will continue to incorporate FaZe Clan members and talent into co-branded events for the 2022 season, including more merch collabs in the future.

“Our continued work with the NFL is a great example of how FaZe Clan delivers content and activations that tap into the passions of our fans and talent,” said Xavier Ramos, FaZe Clan’s senior vice president and head of marketing. “On top of many successful collaborations in the past, there is mutual appreciation, support, and organic friendship among FaZe talent and NFL players across the league. We greatly value the NFL’s respect for the gaming community at large and we’re excited to continue to help drive the cultural convergence of gaming and traditional sports.”

As part of participating in the game, FaZe and A.M.P. will each make a $25,000 donation to benefit youth sports, with FaZe’s donation supporting Snoop Dogg’s Youth Football League.
