Usher Set to Headline Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show

Usher is heading to one of entertainment’s biggest stages. The entertainer revealed on Sunday that he’ll star in the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII halftime show in Las Vegas. In order to make the announcement, Usher called in the help of some big-name friends for the reveal, including Kim Kardashian, Odell Beckham, Jr., Deion Sanders, and Marshawn Lynch. Last year’s show featuring Rihanna drew a record audience of more than 121 million viewers. Additionally, Larry Jackson’s gamma revealed that Usher will drop new music to correspond with the performance. Coming Home will come out on Super Bowl Sunday.

Writers Reach Tentative Deal after 146-day Strike

The writers strike has reached a conditional end. The Writers Guild of America announced that it came to a deal with studios and streaming sites after a 146-day strike that kicked off on May 2. It is recorded as the second-longest strike in Hollywood history. In an email to its members, the WGA confirmed the tentative arrangement: “We can say, with great pride, that this deal is exceptional – with meaningful gains and protections for writers in every sector of the membership.” However, the full details of the deal are not available at this time. The three-year agreement requires a vote by the WGA members.

Anthony Edwards Unveils Adidas Signature Logo and Shoe

Anthony Edwards and Adidas put on a show in Atlanta over the weekend. The Timberwolves star returned to his hometown to officially unveil his signature logo with the Three Stripes. The logo channels the A and E, as well as a shape akin to an ant hill, inspired by his nickname. Edwards rolled up to the event in the AE1 in a pink and black colorway at the event, which also featured a performance by Lil Baby. 

Megan Rapinoe Leads USWNT to Victory for a Final Time

Megan Rapinoes farewell tour made its final stop in Stars and Stripes after over 17 years on the national team. Trinity Rodman and Emily Sonnet each notched a goal as the USWNT took the 2-0 win against South Africa in Chicago. US Soccer honored Rapinoe’s contributions in the run-up to the game. In addition to her contributions on the pitch, Rapinoe will be remembered for her essential contributions as a champion for pay equity for the women’s team.

Lauryn Hill Reunites The Fugees at the Global Citizen Festival

Lauryn Hill is heading on the road this fall to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. However, she shocked fans at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City’s Central Park over the weekend as she brought members of The Fugees back together. The annual event, which also featured the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Common, and many more performances, brought in $240 million to fight global hunger.

Lewis Hamilton Debuts Hajime Sorayama Helmet at Japanese GP

Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes couldn’t stave off Max Verstappen on the track. However, Hamilton had perhaps the most eye-catching moment at the Japanese GP. He debuted a custom metallic Hajime Sorayama-designed helmet. In addition, the British F1 star and the Japanese artist announced an apparel line that will include jackets, T-shirts, and pants and feature the signature sexy robots under Hamilton’s +44 Brand.
