Odell Beckham Jr Partners with Cash App, Collects Salary in Bitcoin

Odell Beckham Jr is no stranger to crypto – he debuted his Cryptopunk purchase back in August. And the three-time Pro Bowler announced on Monday that he’s joining Cash App as their newest brand ambassador, joining fellow NFL star Aaron Rodgers. As part of the partnership, OBJ will take his 2021-2022 salary from the Rams in Bitcoin and give away $1 million in the cryptocurrency to fans. 

Former NBA Star Iman Shumpert Takes Home Dancing with the Stars Trophy

Iman Shumpert is built different. The former NBA star took home the coveted Mirror Ball trophy on Monday night with his partner, professional dancer Daniella Karagach. The two improved steadily over the season, capping off their performances with an incredible routine to Missy Elliot’s “Lose Control.” Shumpert is the first NBA player to win the competition.

Puma Launches First-ever Women’s Basketball Line

Puma has announced its first women’s basketball collection, set to launch on Dec. 1. “High Court” is a 25-piece collection designed by Creative Director June Ambrose who joined Puma in 2020 and will launch the “Women’s Hoops” category of the brand. The line’s campaign includes WNBA stars Skylar Diggins-Smith, Breanna Stewart, Jackie Young, and Katie Lou Samuelson.

Michael Jordan, Devin Booker Among All-Star Investors in WatchBox

WatchBox, a secondary market for luxury watches, announced on Tuesday that they completed a $165 million funding round. The investment round included Michael Jordan, Devin Booker, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Michael Strahan, Larry Fitzgerald, and more, and brings the company’s valuation close to $1 billion. 

LeBron James, Isaiah Stewart Suspended Following Epic Fight

The NBA swiftly handed down its punishment to the Lakers’ LeBron James and the Pistons’ Isaiah Stewart on Monday following their on-court dust-up on Sunday. For their part in the brawl, James was fined $284,004 (1/45th of his salary) and will miss one game while Stewart will sit for two games and pay a $45,201 fine.

Brooks Koepka Signs with Srixon/Cleveland

For the first time since Nike ceased its hard-goods golf line in 2016, Brooks Koepka has signed an equipment deal. The two-time US Open champ announced on Monday that he will play a Srixon driver and irons, Cleveland wedges, and a Srixon golf ball. He will debut the partnership during Friday’s showdown with Bryson DeChambeau on The Match.

Taysom Hill Inks Unique Contract with Saints

With Jameis Winston out with a knee injury and Trevor Siemian sidelined with a foot injury, the Saints have turned to quarterback Taysom Hill to take the snaps. And for his efforts, the veteran QB signed a four-year contract with a unique structure based upon his role with the team in future seasons. The payout guarantees Hill at least $22.5 million over four years, but if he secures the starting spot, he’ll be eligible to take home up to $95 million, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Collectable sports cards and memorabilia platform has agreed to an exclusive partnership with World Football Collection, the parties announced Tuesday. In the run-up to the World Cup in Qatar, the pact will feature numerous opportunities for collectors to invest in fractional shares of rare and game-worn memorabilia from soccer’s biggest stars of past and present, from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to Pele and Diego Maradona.
