Dua Lipa, Ice Spice Among Star-Studded ‘Barbie’ Soundtrack

On Thursday, the official lineup of featured artists for Barbie: The Album was revealed. Among those lending their voices to the film’s star-studded soundtrack include Dua Lipa, who’s also part of the movie’s cast, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, Pink Pantheress, and Khalid. Ryan Gosling, who stars opposite Margot Robbie’s Barbie as Ken, also has song credits. Additional famous faces include Tame Impala, Haim, Charli XCX, and Ice Spice. Executive produced by Mark Ronson, Barbie: The Album drops July 21, the same day the flick debuts in theaters.

MoviePass Readies for Nationwide Relaunch, New Subscription Tier

MoviePass is getting ready for its much-anticipated relaunch. Per Engadget, the new iteration of the movie subscription ticketing service will now operate on a tiered level. The $ 10-a-month plan remains intact, but is only good for up to three movies, instead of one film each day as the former model allowed. Tiers cost $40 per month, permitting up to 30 theatrical screenings. More than 4,000 theaters across the country participate in MoviePass, including AMC Theaters, Regal Cinemas, Cinemark, and a number of smaller regional franchises.

Nike VP Sarah Mensah Tapped as Jordan Brand President

Jordan Brand has a new president. On Thursday, Sarah Mensah made history as the first woman to serve as President of the storied brand, which yields an estimated $5 billion in annual revenue. Prior to her long-running stint in footwear, Mensah served as VP and COO of the Portland Trailblazers from 2009 to 2012. During her tenure with the team, its revenue grew 105%. “The intensity and inspiration of being challenged to achieve something more by the GOAT himself stays with me to this day,” Mensah said in 2021 about her time with Nike and Jordan Brand.

Teyana Taylor Steps up as Creative Director of Upcoming Summer Walker Show 

R&B superstar Summer Walker shared on her personal Twitter that the multihyphenate entertainer Teyana Taylor will serve as creative director of her upcoming Atlanta concert. Taylor’s past creative director credits include stints with clothing brand Pretty Little Things, Queen Naija, Coco Jones, Latto and more. Accompanied by a live orchestra, Walker’s one-night only performance will take place June 1 at the Cobb Energy Centre.

Nvidia Approaching Rare Air as It Nears $1T Market Cap

Nvidia is on its way to making history. The chipmaker’s shares jumped 26% on Thursday, causing its market value to sit just under the $1 trillion mark at around $950 billion, per FactSet. The leap was exponential, as it closed out Wednesday’s trading at $755 billion. Nvidia is poised to become just one of five publicly traded companies to have a current market cap of $1 trillion, joining Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and Alphabet.

Star Wars & Batman Among Hollywood Artifacts to Hit Auction Market

A number of iconic items from Hollywood could fetch millions at auction from those looking to own a piece of history. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia dress from the original Star Wars film, the hammer used by Tim Robbins to escape prison in Shawshank Redemption, and the Batpod motorcycle used by Christian Bale in The Dark Knight will make their auction debut in June. Over 1,400 pieces of memorabilia will sell between June 28 and 30 in Los Angeles.
