Though he failed to win his fifth consecutive Formula 1 drivers championship last weekend, Max Verstappen signed an exclusive multi-year partnership with Fanatics focused on e-commerce, trading cards, and licensed sports merchandise. Fanatics will launch an official Verstappen online global store early next year, which will include access to real-time, on-demand Verstappen items from future racing milestones. Soon, Verstappen.com will be your one-stop shop for all things Max, including a card featuring a race-worn suit from his 2025 victory in Monza.

Disney sent a bombshell cease-and-desist letter to Google, alleging the search giant illegally used Disneyโ€™s copyrighted IP to train its AI models. The letter claims that Disney has been in contact with Google for months on the issue and that the infringement only increased over that time period. The news comes on the heels of Disneyโ€™s announced partnership with OpenAI to license use of Disney franchise characters, and includes a $1 billion investment into the tech giant.

The Life of a Showgirl emerged as 2025โ€™s top-certified album, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. This 5-times platinum record paved the way for Taylor Swift to take the listโ€™s top spot for the second consecutive year. Swift was joined by Alex Warren, who took the top streaming single of the year, with the 3X platinum, omnipresent โ€œOrdinary.โ€ Additionally, nine new artists joined the platinum ranks in 2026, including K-Pop Demon Huntersโ€™ HUNTR/X, Role Model, and Olivia Dean.ย ย 

The Queen of Christmas is taking over Apple Music and TikTok. The streamers will broadcast Mariah Careyโ€™s Vegas residency Here for It All Holiday Special live from Dolby Live at Park MGM, beginning at 8:00 PM PST on Dec. 13. The 90-minute extravaganza features an array of Careyโ€™s holiday hits and comes the same week as โ€œAll I Want for Christmasโ€ tied a record, notching the top spot on the Billboard 100 for a 19th week since its 1994 release.

University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore was fired with cause Wednesday and remained in jail into Thursday for an alleged assault stemming from what the school determined was โ€œan inappropriate relationship with a staff member.โ€ Moore took over as coach in 2024 after Jim Harbaugh left for the Los Angeles Chargers following the Wolverinesโ€™ 2023 national championship. Associate head coach Biff Poggi will lead the team on an interim basis, including in Michiganโ€™s bowl game against the University of Texas on Dec. 31.

Ram announced a partnership with TKO brands UFC, WWE, and PBR, becoming the leaguesโ€™ official truck starting in 2026. Home prices are finally on the decline, according to data from Parcl Labs. The new report reveals that the average home price was down 1.4% over the last three months, marking the first time there has been a recorded sustained decrease since mid-2023. The news comes on the heels of the Federal Reserve announced the third rate cut of 2025 on Wednesday, signaling a potential decrease in mortgage rates on the horizon.ย 

Carl Hiaasenโ€™s books are making the leap from the airport bookstore to the silver screen. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Prime Video has taken over production for his Florida Keys-based mystery Skinny Dip from HBO Max following a major offer.ย  With the move, Emmy winner Amanda Seyfried will star in the lead role. Skinny Dip becomes the third series greenlit from Hiaasenโ€™s extensive library, with Bad Monkey starring Vince Vaughn having premiered on Apple TV+ earlier this year and renewed for a second season and RJ Decker, which is based on his book Double Whammy, scheduled to premiere on ABC in 2026.ย 

As part of their new partnership, Spotify and the ATP Tour released Thursday the debut of โ€œOn Tour With,โ€ a creator-driven audiovisual series documenting last monthโ€™s tour final in Turin. The 26-minute episode featured behind-the-scenes footage with the worldโ€™s top players, while other newly released content documents the careers of superstars past and present like Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and Rafael Nadal.
