Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman’s 35V announced the purchase of a Major League Pickleball expansion team. The news comes on the heels of the conclusion of the 2022 MLP season, which wrapped up this past weekend. Looking ahead to the league’s 2023 campaign, Durant and Kleiman plan on leveraging their expertise and overall presence across sports, entertainment, and media to further the growth of MLP and the sport of pickleball at large.

Lionel Messi Launches Sports & Tech Investment Firm
Lionel Messi announced Play Time, a new investment firm launched in tandem with veteran venture capital investor Razmig Hovaghimian. The firm will target sports and technology. The Argentine soccer legend said in a statement that the holding company will act as “the main vehicle” for Messi’s sports, media, and technology investments globally. “I hope that through its success Play Time will help many people and have a positive impact on the world. I trust in the team and our partners to achieve our objectives,” said Messi. Play Time also revealed that it has already incubated a startup called Matchday.com, a gaming studio for football fans.
Netflix on the Rise with Strong Q3
Netflix has had a tough 2022, but the streaming service may close out the calendar on the up and up. The company reported growth in the third quarter of 2022 after two straight quarters of subscriber losses. The streaming giant reported 2.41 million new paid subscribers in Q3, a gain of 100,000 in the U.S. and Canada region. With the recent announcement of expanded pricing tiers, Netflix expects to post a strong Q4. Netflix Basic With Ads is slated to launch on Nov. 3 for $6.99/month, $3 less than the regular Basic plan.
Florida Gas Stations Set to Make History with In-store Cannabis Sales
Pretty soon, cash won’t be the green changing hands at Florida gas stations. Bloomberg reports that convenience store chain Circle K inked a deal with Green Thumb to sell licensed cannabis at its Florida filling stations. Green Thumb is one of the largest flower producers in the United States. This space doesn’t appear to be slowing down. Just this week Uber announced its new weed delivery service in Toronto.
