Russell Westbrook Set to Sign with Clippers

Russell Westbrook reps LA, and in LA he will stay. Westbrook’s agent, Jeff Schwartz, told Adrian Wojnarowski on Monday that the nine-time All-Star is planning to ink a deal with the Clippers following his trade to Utah. The Jazz are expected to buy out the contract, making him eligible for the move. The news comes after Jazz CEO, Danny Ainge, welcomed Westbrook to Utah but confirmed that the team’s priorities lie with growing its younger players and that it could not promise him a central role or maximum playing minutes.

The New York Liberty are on the precipice for a huge season. At the center of its potential stands third-year star Sabrina Ionescu, who has been busy both on and off of the court. Ionescu’s rookie card just became the most expensive WNBA card in history. Per TMZ Sports , the 2020 Panini Prizm WNBA Black Gold rookie card made history when it sold for $10,800. It’s one of the rarest Ionescu pieces ever made with only 5 copies in existence.

Amazon Creates Dreamy Playlists with Endel

The AI craze is coming for your playlists. Amazon announced that it has formed a partnership with AI company Endel. To start, the company will utilize its technology to create music that will populate sleeping and wellness playlists. Endel has long held an important place in the sleep technology universe. Previously, the company teamed with James Blake to produce “Wind Down,” a sonic soundscape designed to help aid sleep.

Ally Financial Makes Big Investment on Women's Sports

Ally Financial is betting on women. The financial institution revealed on Monday that it is making a multiyear, multimillion investment, 90% of which will go towards women’s sports. First, the company is partnering with Disney and ESPN to serve as a sponsor, including a monthly Sportscenter installment called “Moment Worth Saving presented by Ally,” which will highlight top plays across women’s sports. In addition, the company struck a separate three-and-a-half-year deal with the ACC to serve as the first-ever title sponsor of the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament.

John Henry Takes Liverpool Off Sales Block

John Henry and Fenway Sports Group bought Liverpool in 2010. Recently, the company’s Tom Werner went on the record to say that while FSG was open to selling the club there was no rush to do so. Now, Henry tells the Boston Sports Journal that they are not pursuing a full sale, but are open to the potential for investors. “I know there has been a lot of conversation and quotes about Liverpool, but I keep to the facts: We merely formalised an ongoing process,” Henry said.

Meta Rolls Out Enhanced Subscription Model

Meta is enhancing the quality of some of its cornerstone products, but you’ll have to pay for it. Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company will pilot “Meta Verified,” “a new subscription bundle that includes account verification with impersonation protections and access to increased visibility and support.” The feature will enhance opportunities for verification for creators and cost between $11.99 and $14.99 per month.

Moncler’s Genius Project Takes Over London Fashion Week with Mercedes

Moncler is best known for its winter wear, but the company ventured into some new terrain at Monday’s London Fashion Week show. The fifth installment of the Italian fashion house’s Genius Project tapped various celebrity partners, including Alicia Keys and Pharrell Williams, to blend the worlds of fashion and pop culture. In addition, the label linked with Mercedes who created an oversized sculpture of a G Class car with features reflective of Moncler’s signature puff. It also attracted a star-studded audience, including Serena Williams, Lewis Hamilton, and Marcus Rashford.
