Every day, the team behind Headline To Go aims to deliver the most impactful, timely stories in the business of sports and entertainment. They’re not always the biggest headlines of the day, but they’re the stories that define the Boardroom world. In that same spirit, the highlights below aren’t necessarily the biggest moments of the year — they’re a snapshot of the most-opened editions of Headline To Go in 2025. From game-changing partnerships and record-setting tours to major retirements and self-driving cars, here’s a look back at the headlines that captured your attention most this year.

Nvidia officially entered the self‑driving car game in 2025 through multiple partnerships with numerous trusted brands, such as GM and Hyundai, providing AI platforms and compute systems for autonomous vehicles. The move grabbed headlines because major automakers and mobility companies are now relying on the chipmaker’s technology to power next‑generation self‑driving systems. This expansion highlights Nvidia’s growing influence in AI-driven transportation as we become accustomed to more autonomous vehicles on the road.

Celebrated comedian and avid basketball fan Kevin Hart was named the first‑ever official emcee of the NBA All‑Star Game in 2025. Not only was it the first time a non‑athlete celebrity was tapped in this role, but it emphasized the league’s ongoing push to blend culture and sport. While we don’t know who will emcee next year’s festivities, you can find Hart and Kenan Thompson on Amazon’s Prime Video, where they currently host Good Sports, a weekly sports talk show.

Reigning Roland-Garros champ Coco Gauff launched a new business venture in partnership with WME in 2025, marking her first major move into the entertainment and brand management world beyond tennis. The deal was lauded as a strategic step that positions her among the next generation of athlete‑entrepreneurs. With projects currently in production, keep an eye on how this venture will evolve and further elevate Gauff’s global profile away from the court.

After an incredible 20-year career, Diana Taurasi announced her retirement from the WNBA in 2025. The news dominated sports headlines as Taurasi leaves the league as its all‑time leading scorer and a multiple‑championship, MVP‑winning legend whose impact transcended women’s hoops. Looking ahead to 2026, Taurasi’s influence is expected to continue through coaching youth basketball, regular TV appearances, and philanthropic efforts.

Apple’s 2025 release of the iPhone 16e, a lower-cost model starting around $599 with support for its Apple Intelligence AI features, brought advanced AI capabilities to a broader range of users. This marked Apple’s most aggressive effort yet to compete in the budget smartphone market and make its AI tools more accessible amid rising competition from Google and Samsung. Overall, the cheaper, AI-ready iPhone is a continued part of Apple’s growth strategy heading into 2026 as it works to expand its user base and strengthen its position in the evolving AI mobile landscape.

The estate of Notorious B.I.G. moved forward with selling a major portion of the late rapper’s music catalog, publishing, master recording rights, and name/image/licence rights in a deal reportedly valued between $100 million and $150 million with music publisher Primary Wave. The size of the deal and Biggie’s enduring influence on hip-hop decades after his death made this one of the most talked-about entertainment headlines of the year. The transaction is also seen as setting up a lucrative future for how Biggie’s work will be monetized in film, TV, and other media.

The NWSL partnered with podcast host and ex-soccer player Alex Cooper and her Unwell Hydration brand in 2025, naming them an official league sponsor with activations, co-branded merchandise, and in-stadium fan experiences. The deal became a major headline because it marked one of the NWSL’s most high-profile influencer-driven partnerships, signaling a push to connect more directly with Gen Z audiences.

Travis Scott extended his record-breaking Circus Maximus World Tour by adding international stadium dates, closing the years-long trek by selling over 2.2 million tickets and grossing more than $250 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing solo rap tour in history. Spanning 85 shows across six continents and over 50 cities, the stint began in October 2023 and continued into this year due to overwhelming global demand. The extension not only underscored his massive commercial appeal but also set new benchmarks for live hip-hop economics.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA dropped the music video for their Grammy Award-nominated collaboration “Luther” in April, pairing the emotionally charged song with a cinematic visual that quickly drew millions of views. Following their epic joint performance at the Super Bowl, the track dominated charts and solidified them as two of the most influential artists in modern hip-hop and R&B. To date, it boasts 50 million views on YouTube.

Stephen Curry returned to his alma mater in March 2025 by becoming an assistant general manager for Davidson basketball, helping guide both the men’s and women’s programs while still playing in the NBA. The move made headlines because he became the first active superstar athlete in a major U.S. pro league to take on an NCAA front-office role. Looking ahead, 2026 is expected to be another huge year for Curry, as he is officially a sneaker free agent, potentially reshaping the basketball shoe market.
