Jayson Tatum Returns to Duke as First-Ever Chief Basketball Officer
Duke men’s basketball has named Boston Celtics star and former Blue Devil Jayson Tatum its first-ever Chief Basketball Officer, a new role created by head coach Jon Scheyer. In this volunteer position, Tatum will serve as a mentor and advisor, offering insight on player development, leadership, and the transition to professional basketball. He’ll also support the coaching staff with roster strategy and help ensure the program meets NBA-level standards on and off the court.
Jaden, Willow Smith Step Into Anime with New Deal
Jaden and Willow Smith are entering the anime world through a partnership with N LITE, a Black-owned studio based in the U.S. and Tokyo. Jaden will executive produce and voice a role in Mfinda, an epic fantasy film inspired by Congolese folklore, alongside major collaborators like GKIDS, JuVee Productions, and anime legend Masao Maruyama. Meanwhile, Willow will executive produce and voice a role in Webe: Spirit Detective, a horror-thriller based on Gullah Geechee folklore.
Lenny Kravitz Tapped to Star in NBC’s ‘Sunday Night Basketball’
NBC is bringing music icon Lenny Kravitz on board to launch Sunday Night Basketball, the network’s primetime NBA broadcast debuting in early 2026. Kravitz will star in and perform the weekly show open, which will air exclusively before each game. His anthem will premiere in full on Feb. 1 ahead of a doubleheader featuring the Los Angeles Lakers vs. New York Knicks and the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Denver Nuggets, both airing on NBC and Peacock.
Jimmy Fallon Working on Wordle TV Show for NBC
A TV game show based on the hit puzzle game Wordle is reportedly in production at NBC, with Jimmy Fallon producing and Today anchor Savannah Guthrie set to host. The pilot, currently filming in the UK per Variety, is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio and Fallon’s Electric Hot Dog banner. Originally created by Josh Wardle in 2021 and later acquired by The New York Times, Wordle saw 5.3 billion plays in 2024 alone.
Bob Ross Paintings to Be Auctioned to Support Public TV Stations
Thirty original paintings by beloved TV artist Bob Ross will be auctioned to support small and rural public television stations facing federal funding cuts. Organized by Bob Ross Inc. and auction house Bonhams, the first sale will take place in Los Angeles on Nov. 11, with additional auctions planned in London, New York, Boston, and online. All proceeds will help stations afford licensing fees for popular programs such as The Best of Joy of Painting, America’s Test Kitchen, and This Old House.

Ed Sheeran, ‘Adolescence’ Director Team Up for Netflix Special
Netflix is set to air One Shot with Ed Sheeran, a musical experience debuting Nov. 21. Directed by Emmy winner Philip Barantini of Adolescence fame, the special follows Sheeran in real time through the streets of New York City, performing his biggest hits in a single, continuous take. Viewers can also look forward to candid moments and fan interactions. The special is produced by Fulwell Entertainment and Ben Winston, with Sheeran and Barantini also serving as executive producers.
Lululemon, Fanatics Drop New NHL Gear Ahead of Season
Lululemon and Fanatics are expanding their NHL partnership with a fan apparel collection that now includes all 32 teams for the 2025-26 season. Merch for both men and women includes items such as half-zips, hoodies, and a crossbody camera bag. The campaign features NHL personalities like Paul “Biz” Bissonnette, Megan Eugenio, and Zac Bell. Hulu Doc on Bill Belichick’s First Season at UNC Reportedly Scrapped
North Carolina‘s planned season-long documentary with Hulu has been canceled, Inside Carolina reports. The docuseries was intended to deliver a behind-the-scenes look during Bill Belichick’s first season with the program. However, with UNC off to a 2–3 start and struggling against power conference opponents, the project is no longer moving forward. The team is currently on a bye week and will face Cal next Saturday.
Aubrey Plaza, Jason Schwartzman Among Cast Members in New Prime Video Series
Prime Video announced Tuesday the cast for Kevin, a new adult animated comedy created by and starring Aubrey Plaza. Jason Schwartzman will voice the title character, with Whoopi Goldberg, John Waters, Aparna Nancherla, Gil Ozeri, and Amy Sedaris also featured in the cast. Loosely inspired by a real-life breakup and the cat caught in the middle, Kevin follows the feline’s journey from a cozy apartment to a chaotic pet rescue in Queens.
