The Weeknd is deep into his ongoing After Hours Til Dawn Tour, but the chart-topper can already celebrate a monumental achievement. Billboard Boxscore shared Friday that “The Hills” singer officially has the biggest R&B tour in history, earning $635.5 million and selling 5.1 million tickets since hitting the road in 2022. This means The Weeknd has officially surpassed Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour, which grossed $579.8 million over 56 shows in 2023.
‘Stranger Things’ Creators Eye Exit From Netflix for Paramount Deal
Stranger Things co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer are looking to depart Netflix in favor of a more lucrative overall deal with Paramount, reports Deadline. With the news of Skydance’s acquisition of the network still fresh, it’s attempting to make another splashy move by recruiting the duo to develop film and television, with an emphasis on tentpole features. In addition to the fifth and final season of Stranger Things arriving later this year, the brothers still have other productions coming to Netflix, including the adventure series The Boroughs with Bill Pullman, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, and Alfred Molina.
Pat Riley to Receive Statue Outside of Lakers’ Crypto.com Arena
The Los Angeles Lakers will unveil a statue of former legendary head coach and current Miami Heat President Pat Riley this upcoming season. The ceremony is scheduled for Feb. 22 at Star Plaza outside of Crypto.com Arena when the team plays the Boston Celtics. As head coach of the Lakers from 1981-90, Riley led the franchise to four championships.
Doja Cat Reveals Release Date for Upcoming Album
Doja Cat has officially announced the release date for her upcoming album Vie — the French word for “life” — revealing to her nearly 25 million Instagram followers that the project will arrive on Sept. 26. Earlier this month, Doja teased the forthcoming lead single “Jealous Type,” which will drop on Aug. 21. In a recent interview with V Magazine, the Grammy winner described the new record as having a “pop-driven” sound.
Hailey Bieber’s Rhode to Hit Sephora Shelves in September
After playfully teasing these last few weeks, Hailey Bieber’s billion-dollar skincare empire Rhode confirmed Friday it’s officially launching in Sephora on Sept. 4 in the U.S. and Canada. To celebrate, Rhose also confirmed it will be bringing back three shades of its Peptide Lip Treatment and Tints as part of the launch: Jelly Bean, Strawberry Glaze, and Salty Tan. Sephora will bring the line to its UK shops later this year.
Sam Altman Reportedly Backs Neuralink Rival in $850M Brain Tech Push
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said the tech giant plans to fund a brain-computer interface startup to rival Elon Musk’s Neuralink, according to a Financial Times report. Called Merge Labs, the model is expected to be valued at $850 million, and funds will come primarily from OpenAI’s ventures team. Discussions are still in early stages, but the idea is to create computer interface chips that will eventually be implanted in the brain.

Calling themselves the “fab four,” Marlon Wayans confirmed Friday that he and his brother Shawn Wayans are reuniting to write a brand-new Scary Movie script, with original cast members Regina Hall and Anna Faris set to return. This marks the first project between the Wayans brothers in 18 years, with the film aiming for a theatrical release on June 12, 2026. The horror parody franchise dominated the box office in the early 2000s, and now it’s making a nostalgic comeback for fans of the original films.
