After years of being linked to potential team purchases, Jeff Bezos is buying into Liverpool as part of a consortium acquiring roughly 30% of the Premier League club at a valuation above $7 billion. The group also includes Eduardo Saverin, Amit Bhatia, and the Mittal family trusts. Fenway Sports Group will retain majority ownership and operational control, while Bhatia will become vice chairman. The deal gives Liverpool the highest valuation ever for a soccer club investment.

Kevin Garnett is getting another jersey retirement. The Minnesota Timberwolves will raise his No. 21 to the rafters on Feb. 28, following the teamโ€™s game against Garnettโ€™s former club, the Boston Celtics. Garnett, who rejoined the Timberwolves as a team ambassador, spent his first 14 seasons with Minnesota and remains the franchise leader in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. Boston retired his No. 5 in 2022, joining a group of 16 NBA players who have had their numbers retired by more than one team.

50 Cent and Reebok are revisiting one of hip-hopโ€™s most recognizable sneaker collaborations. The G-Unit G6, originally released in 2003 alongside 50โ€™s breakout album Get Rich or Die Tryinโ€™, is returning Aug. 20 in its original red, white, and blue colorway. The reissue features a leather and suede upper, rubber midsole, and icy outsole, bringing a defining piece of early-2000s sneaker culture back to a new generation.

OpenAIโ€™s annualized revenue has reportedly surpassed $40 billion, roughly doubling its run rate from the end of 2025 as the ChatGPT maker accelerates toward a potential IPO. Growth has been fueled by rising demand for AI coding tools, subscriptions and newer products including AI agents. OpenAIโ€™s consumer business continues to expand, while its nascent advertising business adds another revenue stream.

Fanatics is welcoming the 2026 NFL rookie class with a new installment of The Locker Room, surprising 41 rookies with personalized messages and custom jerseys from NFL legends. Tom Brady welcomed No. 1 draft pick and Raiders quarterback Fernando Mendoza, among others, while Aaron Donald and Barry Sanders also joined the celebration. The Seattle Seahawks are becoming the first NFL team to integrate Dolby OptiView, bringing Dolby Vision to the teamโ€™s live digital coverage. The partnership will deliver richer color, deeper contrast, and more immersive visuals across the team website and app, including press conferences and preseason games. Dolby will also become an official Seahawks partner as the team looks to enhance its digital experience and bring fans closer to the action.

Megan Thee Stallion is teaming up with Interscope Records for global distribution and support while maintaining her independence. Through the deal, Interscope will work with her Hot Girl Productions label, while Megan retains full ownership of her masters and publishing. The partnership comes as she prepares her next album, which she has described as a โ€œreintroductionโ€ to her Tina Snow persona. It follows her 2024 distribution partnership with Warner Music Group.

Warner Bros.โ€™ The End of Oak Street is targeting a $38 million-$48 million global opening after generating $2.5 million in U.S. Thursday previews. The Anne Hathaway-led sci-fi film has already reached $6.5 million worldwide, with international markets expected to drive the bulk of its debut. Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to rake in at the box office, adding $205.7 million in its second week to reach $715.8 million domestically.

Drake‘s OVO and Major League Baseball are back with a new 2026 collection, led by the Toronto Blue Jays and featuring the Yankees, Dodgers, White Sox, and Astros. The lineup blends team branding with OVOโ€™s signature aesthetic across varsity jackets, baseball jerseys, football-style jerseys, and graphic tees. Anthropic could be headed for a record-setting IPO this fall, with investors reportedly anticipating a public debut that values the five-year-old AI company at more than $2 trillion. That would top SpaceXโ€™s recent $1.77 trillion IPO and become the largest in history. Alex Cooper is winding down Unwell Beverages less than two years after launching the drink brand with Nestlรฉ. The Call Her Daddy host plans to release one final Halloween-themed collection before ending production, while Target works through its remaining inventory. The shutdown comes as Cooperโ€™s broader Unwell media business continues to expand. The company recently secured a strategic investment that valued the media network at $500 million.
